I've only seen pics of PMs with effects off. I'm guessing weapons would look the same as them. Check the little wing-like things on it's back.

Those were my exact thoughts. Without, it seems like an odd glowing piece of steel. With the post effects, it actually looks like a light saber.

The cat says "Nanoblast", the fat guy is a "Coltoba" (those four-legged enemies on Parum), the black guy at the end says "Force", etc.
