- Sega announced Sega Ages 2500: Phantasy Star I, II, III & IV for PS2, a collection of the four classic Phantasy Star episodes in the 8/16-bit era, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series.

um um but what does this mean???? is this going to be another Japan-exclusive package???? that's sooo unfair. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

http://www.the-magicbox.com reported this news (they are bad for direct links since news are combined on each page. so just check the recent archives.)

but this is incredible! does this mean PSIII is being remade as well? and PSIV will actuall be remade too???

hmmm maybe magicbox got confused for remakes and maybe it's just a collection. but this is Sega AGES we are talking about.

so a complete 4-game collection of remakes sounds like an outstanding deal!!

but even if its all true 3 and 4 are being remade and 1 and 2 will be included in the package, if it isn't coming over here I just won't simply import them because stuff, especially RPGs are only pleasant when I can play them in english. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

but you know with Sega Classics Collection announced for U.S. (that includes the classic II,III and IV),

this makes it even less likely this PSI,II,III+IV remake collection will ever come to the U.S., if ever.

This has already been discussed, and they are not remakes, simply a PS2 compilation for the PS2 to cash in on the Phantasy Star name while PSU is still hot.

AFAIK, it's Japan only, so as not to be confused with those found on the Genesis Collection (which, BTW, has a different developer, natch).

The only difference I could see is the inclusion of PSI, and maybe extras...
