View Full Version : New JP XBox 360 Site - Translation Needed

Ryna
Sep 29, 2006, 12:52 PM
Ryno just submitted a story about the opening of the JP XBox 360 site:
http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/xbox360/

It confirms the price (6800 yen) and release date.

It seems like there is some other important information on here (5.1 audio perhaps), but all of the text has been saved as JPEGs. I'd ordinarily run a translation tool on it, but that is impossible in this case. Could someone take a look at it and translate any "interesting" news?

Let me read this before I translate it.

"Interesting" in the sense that casual people may not know about it.

Ahh ok I feel you. Well, it's not much bro. No hidden info that most people interested may not know about.

December 14? that is quite a delay for them.

If i'm seeing this right (text for the complex kanji is a mess at that size)...
PS2 and PC version are seperate, however X360 version will have worldwide server coverage (JP/US/EU).

I guess that's their answer to cover for small seperate X360 communities...

Does anyone find it ironic that the XBox 360 community will start in the United States?

Thanks for the translations guys.

ya lol and they said the reason why JP and US is unliked for PC/PS2 is because of story concerns and ppl getting ahead of others or something. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

ah well it can't be avoided ppl getting ahead of others. not everyone will hop online at once even on a single system.

I'm pretty sure it's an effect that many 360 games have. It usually looks better in motion, but I can't say anything about this game as I have yet to see a PSU 360 video yet.

The pc screens were taken at everything set to max and at 1024x768 pixels, versus the 360's 1280 pixel width, 720 pixel height.

Ya, that's what I'm thinking, could be some sort of motion blur going on, or the way the pics were captured, wouldn't worry to much until we actually see a decent quality video of it in motion, just the blurriness was the first thing that stuck me when I saw those shots.

http://www.xboxyde.com/leech_3144_en.html was actually linked in the "new video" thread yesterday, but you kinda had to dig for it (edit: up until someone actually posted a direct link to it today). It's a video of the (widescreen) monitor so it's not exactly high quality, but you get the idea of how the game looks/moves on 360.

Of course, the blur likes like it could just be JPEG artifacting.

Edit: Wait, no, scratch that. On closer inspection, it does look a bit like that blur effect 360 games have. The beast in the corner of that first image looks like she's "out of focus" as if it were a camera. Hopefully that effect will be applied intelligently.

Any word on specific XBL-related features, aside from voice chat, of course? Achievements and the like?

What I don't get is how they're going to properly incorperate voice chat when the US/EU/JP servers are linked for 360.

Probably something similar to this,

Mostly English on universe 1, mostly German on universe 2, mostly French on universe 3, mostly Spanish on Universe 4, mostly Japanese on universe 5.

Yeah they probably don't have HD set up to output. Also I am not sure how they are taking screenshots off the 360 either, so they could be photographing directly off the output source (monitor, tv, etc) for all I know. Games displayed in HD quality WILL look like the PC screen, (ever played call of duty 2 at walmart on an HD screen you will know, for all those out there who don't own HD) but that is probably regular old RCA input. Doesn't draw me away from the game though. Still looks better than PS2.

EDIT: Yeah that motion blur does happen I've noticed. On second thought that may be the reason. Wow, I really need to read all the posts under a topic before I respond... =/

Nah, I think Saner is moving to 360.

I like this news that the JP servers will be linked to the US/EU ones. Gives a little hope that this might happen at a later date for the PC/PS2 versions after more of the content has been released.

Sorry for the tone but what the HELL are you smoking? Do you really believe this is how the DEVELOPER of the game makes screenies? Grabbing with a videocard using RCA Composhite? Never mind the fact that Xbox 360 only outputs 480i over Composhite, just like any other console, and Composhite gives extremely fuzzy edges especially in the reds.
The blurriness is propably nothing more than a result of the downsampling of the screens to about 1/3 of the original resolution.
Developers grab screens much like you would on a PC doing a "print screen", by accessing the framebuffer of the console/dev system.

This is more likely the case, as the screens are only like 768x432 instead of 1280x720. (Which is what they'll actually be when you play it..)
