How does the player shop/Open Shop function work?

After reading the comments in the player shop topic http://pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=119745&forum=20 I've been thinking I'd like to try it out. Problem is, I don't get it and it also seems a bit intimidating. I understand I need some sort of ticket and then I can shop around for items that other players are selling?

Actually, it'd be neat if someone posted a "How to Use Player Shops" topic with pictures and everything like someone did with the How to get a SegaLink ID.

Step 1, go to the little computer console in your room, talk to it and pick the third option

The next menu has 4 options. The top one I have no idea, the rest are search by player name, search by shop description, and search by item. The last one can be the most useful if you are able to type the exact item name you're looking for, it will only show you shops that have that item for sale

I've searched by player name, and the game has come up with a list of shops

Select the shop you want and pick the top option

You'll be teleported to the persons room. Talk to their personal machinery and pick the top option to browse their inventory

To search for another shop, talk to the cash register and pick the 2nd option

To open a shop yourself, you need to get a shop open ticket, which can be purchased for 15,000 meseta in the Variety shop (2nd floor of the colony, vendor in the center)
