I know this has probably been asked thousands of time but, i just so happened to miss them all is there any links that infer about a PSU demo for 360 or them even confirming or saying there will be or is it all speculation?

The only source that I'm aware of even saying there would be a demo is one of those "Oh yeah my friend is a manager at Gamestop and his friend's uncle's cousin works in Sega's marketing department and he got an e-mail saying they were making a demo" posts on some random gaming site.

Basically, nobody knows anything about the demo because its existence is still just a rumour. Which isn't to say that it wouldn't be totally sweet to get, or that it would be inordinately hard - it'd basically just be the Premiere Disc's content, which is well within the average size of a demo on the Marketplace.

Sega, on the other hand, just intends to place a demo at the Marketplace that will feature both online and offline modes. All information came from the email Sega sent to various distributors.

I bet it'll come out like three days before PSU's launch.

Maybe it'll come out this week or the week afterwards if we're lucky.

I'd say the offline demo will be out before the release and the online demo will be out well after release.

Saner
Oct 2, 2006, 07:56 AM
aaaah it might come anytime during this week and next week maybe. if at all.

but they said it contains both offline and online demos together.
so I would think if that is their opportunity for a 'beta test', they would release it as early as possible this October.

otherwise there wouldn't be anytime to fix anything they discover before the release.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the demo was released after the game releases, to pull more potential players in. ST already knows that it has a fanbase, if it checks this site.

PSOW has made a name for itself as the best PS fan site IN DAH WORLDZ!!!....

So yeah, they know they already have a fan base, XD. But that didn't stop companies like Capcom from releasing the Dead Rising demo. They knew that with a game like that, they were going to get a massive response, yet they released the demo anyways.

I think I am the only one who thought Dead Rising was just "OK". It was a good game, but for some reason, I hate being rushed in my games, I can't stand being on a timer. I am the type who will explore every nook and cranny if it takes me all day. That's why I loved Oblivion, tons of nooks, no timer. I guess that's why Dead Rising never struck me as "Extraordinary" although the graphics and gameplay were superb.

I heard it might be on the OXM 62 demo disc

Tystys

No, the game isn't extraordinary, but that's why people loved it. It's a simple little hack and slash that does almost everything right. Not to mention it's the 360's first Zombie Game, O_O

Sega doesn't understand the concept of Marketing (in the Marketplace, get it?).

Common sense certainly isn't very common.

Im sure they'll at least release a trailer for the game at the marketplace.

it should be an english version of one of their better JP trailers, like PSU Network Trailer #2. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Thats the whole point of Dead Rising, you have two days to get your scoop and get back to the helicopter.

When you get past that and Overtime mode you're more than welcome to take as long as you like in unlimited mode.

Thats Capcom for you.

the phantasy star series already has cult classic status they dont need to hype the game because the fans will do it for them.typically you only see demos for sleeper games,to help sell a sleeper game and holiday samplers.

some examples of this would be shadow of the colossus, ffxii demo with dragon warrior 8,mgs2 demo with zone of enders, and every novervember/december sony sends a holiday demo disc to people that have registered their ps2's. btw last winters demo disc was excellent. sotc,MKSM,SC2,castlevania

Whatever the case, I hope Sega doesn't take the OXM route.

I agree, even for blockbuster demos, OXM is a totaly waste of money to subscribe to. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

live marketplace is the future. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

yes a long time ago they updated Live and now people can play games offline while downloading anything online.

it's recommended to only ownload one thing at a time, though. although I think the 2nd and other things you download are held in cue until your first download is complete or something.

but ya in any case you don't have to stare at a bar to fill up to 100%, you can do other things.

I believe they recently added support for background downloading, but I'm not sure if you can actually exit the dashboard entirely in the midst of doing so.

yes you can. I played UNO single player while downloading a game demo on Live Marketplace, without the guide menu or dashboard visible and it informed me when the demo was fully downloaded.

I then exited UNO and started playing the demo I downloaded.

so ya there is background downloading or whatever you call it as long as you are not 'playing online'.

Ye,

Saner is correct, there is backgroud downloading. They added it a few months back.

Downloads are put into a cue and you're able to do whatever you please while it downloads (except for playing anything online).

I don't mind buying OXM, but I feel the gaming magazine doesn't really have a place in today's generation. Not when so many people have access to the internet and gaming blogs and/or websites.

Most of the news I see in OXM and other game magazines is news I've already read on Joystiq, IGN or Gamespot.

Haha, I wonder if anyone still reads "Tips & Tricks" anymore.

no no that's only if you start up a game's online mode/lobby/match.

you can play anything offline while downloading, Elder Scrolls IV, arcade games, anything as long as you don't go into any of its Xbox Live gaming modes/lobbies.

but ya the instant you play a game online (if it has online play), your download will stop.

are you kidding I have 2000 enemies watching my every move! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

I'm not going to reveal my GamerTag! I would not be treated equally like everyone else. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

being anonymous with PSU online is the best way to go, just like PSO. they didn't look at me as 'Saner', they just teamed up with me and have fun. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

anyways my reputation has drawn in massive enmity, especially from those who don't even have an account here but are watching.....and scheming to give me a bad day..... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif
