I was reading the topic about the bad translation and that censorship thing popped in my head. I truly hope they fixed it, 'cause Xbox 360 players are gonna be mad if they see ''s******'' for shooter... lol.. And if someone remember the censorship symbols, please post it.. I forgot the order %@*#

LOL... You truly think that Sega Team have a voice recognition system that will *beep* the censored words that you will say through your headset? Hmmm... I think you are just a little bit too optimistic about what Sega Team can do.

**And yes, JEW was censored and sHOES was partially (s****) as well as sHOOTERS. And fuck was censored.

If that happened, 90% of speech would be made up of beeps.

I read that profane words will be censored, but not if they are part of another word, so now we can talk about buying shoes on Saturday, instead of buying s**** on Sa****ay, lol.

EDIT: If I remember where I saw that, I'll get a link up.

If it's being routed entirely through the headset I doubt she'll hear. Just don't repeat what you hear, eh?

Anyway, in the Japanese version, it seems the word filter has... improved in some ways, but gotten worse in others. Fortunately you can say most things without having to worry, but every now and then.

You can't say "isn't it" because of the last three letters, for example. Four-letter words are (rightfully) censored, but none of their variants are (-er, -ing suffixes, etc.).

Oh *beep*!... You *beep* *beep*! You almost killed me! Come back here you *beep* *beep*... What were you guys *beep* doing? That *beep* almost killed me? *beep*you man... you took too much time buying your *beep* dimates.

I should do the same when you see a hacker but there is just too much *beep* to write it...

lol..yeah, im gonna filter it through the headsets then she'll never know.I guess I'll just ignore what others say! I'll still use a keyboard though (^_^)

And for the censorship thing, you can still mute people that are saying profane words.

EDIT: Or those SCREAMING LIKE BABIES!

i wish they would just give you an option to turn it on or off on your end. not for other people, but what you see. not necessarily because I'm a huge fan of swears, but just because I'd like to see what people are saying. sure, they are trying to access more age-groups and types of people, but I'd rather see everything someone is saying for the sake of preventing confusion. they allow you to turn on or off profanity in a number of other online games...why not this one?

Censoring becomes a bigger problem if you want to type in another language than english/Japaneese,,..
Should be able to turn that off.

you can say anything you want on the jp ps2/pc ver if you put a japanese space in front of the word. also the . works fine also. the censor doesnt do anything except cause confusion and annoy ppl.

It's the age-old problem that NO ONE has ever solved. Why don't they ever make a #%(&ing option for this?
