What's my number?

More importantly, can I get your number?

Charmander02
Oct 4, 2006, 03:49 PM
Well it's 905-388-....

Um, no.

Though those first 6 numbers are actually my real #, you'll just have to find out the other 9999 different possible numbers that can go on the end.

Something to kill the time i guess.

Oh and don't forget about the long distance charges.

It's not 9999 different possible numbers...it's actually 10*10*10*10, or 10,000. Simple probability.

No actually here's how phone numbers work where i come from:

You have the area code: 905

Then 7 other numbers and seeing as how i gave you the first 3 of those 7 then there are 9999 different possiblities.

You would have to multiply the possible number of outcomes, 10, for the first number by the possible number of outcomes, 10, for the remaining numbers. So basically, it's 10^n power. In this case, you said 4 numbers. It becomes 10^4 power, which is 10,000 different combos. If it were 7 numbers, it's 10^7, or 10,000,000.
