It sounds like the one they currently have going on for the PC version of the game, which is a closed beta that is pretty much limited to members of the media (so, really more of a preview than an actual beta). If, for some reason, they did do another closed beta "preview", it would probably be limited like the current one. well anyways a demo is assured because various sources point out that there will be a demo.

Really pisses me off when i see people bitch about the 9.99$ a month thing, thats nothing in the scheme of things. What's 10 bucks like a trip to a fast food joint? Ok so there u go, dont eat crappy junk food once in the month.

The 10 bucks for the monthly to me is like insurance that they will deal with issues as they arise and release new content down the road. Everyone dwells on the negative aspect of it. /rant

well your friends should know better before jumping to conclusions like that.

I'm surprised they still play WoW, and FF11, which are overall harder and longer to do things than a PSO game. I guess the farming and AH exploits to get rich quicker are what keep them glued to WoW/FF11. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif

but ya marketplace should at least have offline demo too. but ya this X360 online beta thing sounds really good if anyone can try it.

I played FF for awhile got sick of waiting for partys Forever unless i was ma WHM
WoW super easy to level n stuff just repeats over n over

PSU im hopeing is gonna be layed back kinda relaxing game so mega mega hoping is online thing id pay the 10$ to try it a week

Happy_peanut, I think you misread those links. It doesn't say anything about paying for the demo. It just lists the monthly price the game will be when it comes out and that there will be a demo. It doesn't say you have to pay for the demo if you read it over.

I just don't want people to be mislead by your post and not get the demo assuming they have to pay.

They never say whats available for dowload. Out of the 40 plus downloads, at most 5 have been announced

ya they didnt mention Need for Speed Carbon demo on marketplace until like the day before by major nelson.

the same for that free camera arcade game, which was only mentioned like 1 or 2 days in advance when specifically it would be released.

ya but that is still accomplished even without a demo, IGN already has hands-on with the online and stuff, so another report about the X360 demo wouldn't enhance the anticipation like hands-on play ourselves of the demo/beta.

so anything IGN or anyone says of the X360 demo if its a closed beta wouldn't be anything new that hasn't been discussed.

Ok, hey guys guess what? My friend knows a guy that works for Sonic Team of America and he told me in confidence that they are going to release an online demo of PSU close to a week before the game comes out on 360. He couldn't say if it is online or not, but he definitely said that there would be a demo, and it would be released close to the 17th or 18th! He also said that they were working with square-enix to design a new console that will be rpg-based, and all of Sega and Square Enix titles will be first party for this console. I read that Square-Enix was delevoping a console so this must be true!

See, it's easier to lie to people when you don't have to look them in the eye.

wow . long time reader, first time poster here . never thought a post i put up on GameFAQs would end up here . you all can believe me or not, that's the beauty of having an opinion . i just wanted to pass on a little nugget of info i was able to pick up while talking to a couple of SEGA developers . i'm sure it would've become general knowledge sooner or later, but anyways....

Sorry I didn't want to make it seem like I am attacking anyone here. It's just that, this is the internet, and for all you know, I could be the CEO of ST posing as a player so I can get development ideas. I have reasonable doubt. For me not to have reasonable doubt, I would need a full motion video with a high profile individual from sonic team posted facing the camera, saying that the demo would be released on XX/XX/XXXX date, and he would need to have two forms of government ID and Sonic Team ID posted on the screen to ease my doubts. No offense bobOmb, but I wouldn't expect anyone to believe me if I started a rumor, so I can't believe anyone else. I guess you can say I'm cynical, a pessimist perhaps, a scientist, a naysayer, but I've been taught to never believe anything without first exhausting all possibilities of disproval. Therefore, I am not denying that you read text addressed to you allegedly posted to a messageboard by an individual claiming to work for ST perhaps leaking a detail that until this moment, no one has published or will publish. My main question addresses my belief that any of it is true. Nothing personal, but why should I believe you, where's the proof?

And all these sources are based on some unreliable source that heard SOMETHING from SOME shop owners.. come on..

it comes when it comes, some games get a demo, and some games don't.

I've heard this beeing said before but: Demo's, gameplay trailers and screenshots actually ruin the whole WOW factor of a game.. I've experienced this with several games.. the games I still like the most were the games I never knew about, and PSO is one of them.. and games I look forward to the most, seem to dissapoint me alot easier..

Valkayree . i didn't read this anywhere, i talked with two of the guys (one on the PR team and one on the developement team) face to face at a convention that i was recently attending

StanleyPain . the PR rep worked at Sega of America, and he was the first to mention it, he then clarified it with the staffer from the deveolpement team (whom i didn't ask what team he worked for)

and

Bombomb's news about what developers said about the demo next week.
