The formula for obtaining the cost of a Class change for any given Character Level is 150 + (50 * CL) - where CL is the character's Character Level. Below is a table showing the cost of changing your Class.

Source (http://www.psupedia.org/index.php?title=Classes)

On a side note, you can level as a Ranger and then switch to Hunter, the class just offers some bonus in stats.
I think the stats you earn with each levels is calculated depending on your race, and that there are multipliers applied for each classes. (depending on level class and class bases bonuses)

But I am maybe wrong, if anyone can confirm or correct.

ok, million dollar question:

if you level to 30 as a ranger, and then you switch to a hunter. what exactly happens to your stats?
- will they become as they should be if you were a starting from lv1, lv30 hunter, or

- will they remain the same from your 30 ranger levels, but will you get for the coming levels bonuses of a hnter in stead of a ranger.

I never played online.

I think you start with 0 meseta. But if I remember what have already been posted you start with :
GRM's Saber, Handgun and another melee weapon for human (Sword or Spear)
Tenora' Saber, Handgun and Fists for beast
Youmei's Saber, Handgun and Wand for a newman
GRM's Saber, Handgun and Rifle for casts.

Again, if someone can confirm or correct this, thank you.

To CryO : Like I said, I only play offline for now, and as I could see, my Newman hunter earns way more TAP and MST than ATP and DFP, which makes me think that the stats curve along levels is race dependant.
While the classes only boosts stats depending on the level of the class.

Otherwise, players that are already Lv 50 online would be nerfed since they would have leveled as a novice class to Lv 50 and will just have the expert classes from Lv 50 to 60.
In this case a new player that will transfert from Hunter to Fortefighter at Lv 20 will be more efficient at Lv 50 than a player that made Fortefighter from 50 to 60.

And I can point Belgium on a map. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Zeppelin, I have the solution for ya.. you only get experience for your job level (HU/RA/FO) when you complete a mission.
So just solo a bit in the first mission and pick up all the stuff that drops, leave the game and THEN switch class.
You will only have recieved EXP. towards your character level, not your RAnger level.

Im quite sure this is correct..correct me otherwise, please!

I really don't know, but if you want money easy for starting just create a character, unequip him his clothes and gear and transfer throught the shared bank.

Or sell your Rifle, hunter can't equipe Rifles.

Edit : You're welcome Zeppelin36.

The gear you start with sells for 1 meseta, so selling your starter gear won't net you anywhere near enough money to switch your job.

Like the formula suggests, it costs 200 meseta to switch jobs at character level 1. You do start with precisely 0 meseta.

And it doesn't matter if you do one short mission as your race's starter class; there's no difference between being a "full hunter cast" and being a Hunter Cast that has a couple job points in Ranger. Just play through one mission, get the meseta reward, sell whatever drops (if you're lucky enough to have any equips drop), and then switch your class.

Yeah, a couple job points, not that you'll have any actual levels in the Ranger class. It takes way more than just one mission to level your job, even getting S-rank.
