I'm trying to choose between three of my top choices... Hmm, maybe wartecher.

Hum Fem Wartecher here. I always liked Twin Daggers (and having 'S' ranked wands is icing on the cake).

Man, I wish I could decide...

I like double sabers, twin claws, claws, twin sabers, and knuckles. (And spears a little bit, too.) But I also like techniques.

Wartecher has both magic and melee, but no double saber. Fighgunner has double saber and twin saber, but only an A-Rank twin claw. And fortefighter has everything I want, but I wouldn't be able to use magic.

I don't like using techniques, or any magic whatsoever. In ANY game I've played I've always been the barbarian or the knight or whichever class was pure battle skill and strength over magic usage. PSO wasn't an exception, as I always chose cast characters. I believe I'll be resuming this tradition in PSU as a fortefighter.

I'm torn between Wartecher and Fighgunner. I thought I was definitely going to be a Wartecher until I found out that they couldn't use Double Sabers. But I'm not using any "Forte" classes because I always like to use different weapon types so I can be of help in any situation. The only ranged weapons fortefighters can use are handguns. Blech.

Although I DO want to be one on my main, this was actually after some careful consideration and after playing a HU class for mainly support (I'm good at tipping stuff over!). But now everyone else is going to be one and we'll just be the dumb, common as muck schmucks I'm starting to have second thoughts.

I mean, 1/4 of the game unable to heal? That's pretty bad IMO. I might have to reconsider my choice.

It depends entirely on how many players choose to play as human or beast. It may be an overwhelming majority... it may not. I don't import japanese games, so I really don't have access to the statistics. Personally, I believe more people are going to spread word of the Wartecher class, and it will become THE thing to be, making non-tech-using classes entirely obsolete due solely to the fact that technique-users now dominate the majority of the player base. And it's not as if it's impossible to heal without techs... or did they completely remove healing items from the game altogether? You tell me. EDIT: When I played PSO as a cast, I never relied on forces whatsoever. I would solo half the time, or play in parties that were entirely comprised of casts. I never felt like I was suffering. Hunters who rely entirely on support forces are fucking weak, in my opinion.

If you master magic, then I have respect for you. However, it is part of my personal gaming belief to not use magic in any game.

What I have no respect is for people who half-ass their character and balance them out in every aspect. It's fucking boring. But, like I said, I can't tell you not to. I just have no respect for people who do that. It's nothing personal.

It's not that I don't believe in teamwork, I just don't believe I require a force casting techs on me for me to play the game. My purpose in a party is to take and deal damage at the front of the party, not to rely on a force. If I can't defeat something, it's not the party's force's fault for not healing me, it's mine for sucking.

It's a difference of opinion. MY PERSONAL OPINION (WHICH MEANS NOT ANY OF YOURS SO STOP ASSUMING I AM DOING ANYTHING OTHER THAN VOICING MY OWN) is that if I can't defeat something without the help of a mage-type character or magic itself, I am sucking at the game. I purposely do NOT rely on magic.

And in addition to buffs making one stronger, there are also debuffs to make your opposition weaker, thus not only eliminating their notion of their hard-earned strength, but also making one comparatively stronger, by that much more.

actually, I kind of agree with Cigaro in a cetain margin of agreement.

I DON'T like playing as a magc user because they are just so bland to me, I tried it in PSO, FFXI, RS, ES 3-4, random Baldurs Gate games, among other offline and online games and just can't seem to like it.

The main reason is that their HP sucks, nothing is worse then getting 1 shoted because you have crap HP and defense, their dmg is run off on how much MP/TP they have, and they can't do physical dmg for shit.

Now i'm not saying physical fighters are better, they have their downs as well but for PSO's battle system, I always like using skill (dodging, combo attack timing, knowing when do use what and where) to play the game rather then just launching/spamming random dmging AoEs with the occasional buff/debuff and healing.

So in short, its all down to playing style, I COULD play a force but not without being bored to death, while others enjoy a force and couldn't bother with the redundant attacking of a hunter type character.
