I'm pretty confident the beta will be out Friday. This close to a release, the only thing holding it up could be certification at Microsoft or the servers not being up and running.
And I doubt MS is going to have their certificaiton people come in on a weekend to work on a 3rd party title outside of a big event like E3 or X06.

I highly doubt PSU Beta will be released on Friday evening, or even on Friday for that matter. PSU Beta will be available for download for two full days; Saturday and Sunday are the only the only two full days of the weekend.

I'm not saying this to burn hopes or to be "technical", I'm in the same boat as everyone else, I want the Beta enough to kill newborn ponies. I was merely addressing the assumption of it being released on Friday. If it is released then, by God strike me with lightning and burn my hands off so I can't play PSU.

I hate to say it, but Sat/Sun makes sense when you pair it with that cryptic comment about "uninterrupted weekend play." I'm guessing that basically means uninterrupted downloading.

Not to keep going on with this, but Friday evening is technically the weekend.

As well, if you've ever listened to Major Nelson's podcast, you'd know that they don't like putting things up on Xbox Live on Friday nights, because then if something goes wrong it won't get fixed until Monday. That tells me that if it IS for sure going up "this weekend," then Friday night would be the most logical point for it to be released, because of that lack of proper Xbox Live staff on Saturday and Sunday.

Yeah that's something you could certainly do indeed. If you are a Costco member then I would recommend buying it there. That way you could get yourself some sort of bundle (assuming you can afford it). If you decide to return it then there should be no problem. Just the other day my brother returned a scale from like five years ago without a box or reciept or anything. As long as it's in their computer data base they'll take anything back.
