So it has been stated in another post that my computer will barely run PSU. But I have an idea. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Do you think that it will be possible to buy PSU for my PC, and just endure playing on low settings until I get my PS3, and then just buy the PS2 PSU and play it on that? I was just wondering if that will work? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

P.s. I really appreciate the people who tolerate my annoying post. I plan to stop this once this whole fiasco is figured out, and try to post worth while stuff when the game is actually out. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

I do have a PS2, but I have never played an online game with it, and I don't want to have to buy all the stuff to take it online...

You know, with the money you use to buy a ps3 you could make an even better PC.

I may be wrong, but I don't believe they have announced for certain whether PSU will work for PS3. PS3 will probably be backwards compatible, but you may have trouble going online with it.

awww lol I wouldn't get my hope up for a PS3 anytime soon with the super limited supply consoles released(if you get lucky PS3 for 1000usd). For the money you might spend on a PS3 you can get an xbox360 and a better computer.

There's a chance that PS3 could be on its own server as well assuming a brand new Xbox 360 like online community.

PS2 version has been said to suffer from bad framerates, so I can't really recommend it either.

What stuff would one have to buy to make a PS2 go online? I've never done it before and I haven't really looked into it... don't I just need a keyboard & an internet connection or something? I'm not debating your point, I'm really wanting to know ^_^; I have been assuming it wouldn't be all that difficult, but from what you say here, does it cost a lot of money or take some kind of special equipment besides the actual PS2?

Edit: if you're wondering why I haven't really looked into it, its cause I'm probably not gettin the game for a while after it comes out =)

No word has been announced about how PS3's BC will work. Honestly, it should work fine; seeing on how they can fit PS2 technology in the PS3.

As for the online play on PS3, thats another if. Sony's new Playstation Network Platform (PNP; Sony's online service for PSP + PS3) might restrict the use of connecting to a source outside of their servers.

From what I read, PS3 will be backwards compatible. I think I've read about it in a few gaming mags and online as well. I will be buying the PS3 next year when I have the money, since the game I want to play (FF 13) isn't coming out till June of next year anyway.

Your plan is sound. It probably would be best to just play it on your PC and save the money for a PS3. If it turns out that the PS3 isn't backwards compatible, you can always just use the money you saved to buy it anyway, or get a slim PS2 or upgrade your comp.
