Help with Extra mode. [Possible Spoilers]

Level 2 of the forest how do I get through? There's just a gate and it won't let me through.

I thought I already replied something like this a day or so ago by you..hmmm...

Anyway, equip your goggles and laser beam gun thing. Use the goggles to find 4 weird bobble things on the floor.. once your goggles 'lock on' you will be able to see them when you unequip. Now equip your laser thing and fire away. Once they all turn neutral hit the SEED 3 times. Collect the red card thing and open the gate.

To my understanding, wouldn't you have to had to do that in story mode in order for extra mode to be unlocked? By the time I did it in extra, it had been well explained in story. Or maybe he just hasn't killed all the monsters and gotten the key to the gate? Remember, there are always 4 bulbs to deactivate or whatever.
