What is it with all the hate with X360 version of PSU

I've been reading thread for the past month and I see nothing but hates towards PSU X360 version. I don't get it. What happen to Pso-World ? I though that since Episode 1 & 2 was release on xbox, it was establish that each platform was equally viable.I am a Phantasy Star fan. Regardless of what device I will be using to play it. I am happy this time around that it's not exclusive to a platform like PSO3 was.

Now Sega should of use the word "Stress-Test" instead of open beta. I don't really need a beta to tell me if the game is good. The track record of Sega in their Phantasy Star franchise speak for itself. If I only get a free sneak peak for a day or two, I am happy. It something that was GIVEN freely by Sega. I will still buy the game. I will still play it over 500hours like I did with Episode 1 & 2.

Pso on xbox was my favorite version and thier tons people here with 360 here will all be getting that version.

It's just abit weird because the communities are seperate at the end of the day, it was kinda the same way when the Xbox PSO was announced. - well more so then because it was abit of "zomg PSO Microsoft!"

Yeah, too bad the 360 version doesn't really look any better, so those getting it thinking theres a drastic difference in graphics will be sorely disappointed.

Sure, I could get it on 360 if I wanted to, I have one, but theres nothing it offers that I want. Don't want voice chat, and don't have a widescreen TV, thus, no reason to get 360. The PC is fine enough for me.

Personally, I hope each console is supported equally. Who cares who plays with whom? Its the same damn game. Graphics just make each one look different. Consider them triplets, with a different taste in fashion (ie- graphics)?

Hmm, for some reason, because the official site actually makes mention of the 360 version and support issues regarding it, it makes me actually think the same crew will be in charge of all of them, not just PC/PS2.

For a 299$ console, I said it gives the pc a pretty good run for their money but that is beside the points. Each platform has their own advantage. I can see how someone prefer playing on pc but you have to also consider why some prefer console.

My HDTV is 51''. I have a Onkyo pair with a set of Paradigm Speakers. Compare to my little 17'' samsung LCD and the poor JBL speakers attach to it, This is why I play on console. It has nothing to do with which platform is more capable of.

You'll be surprised. The PC version is a port PS2 port.

You can't enable anti aliasing at the moment. You can't run in widescreen.. and, you do need a decent setup to run at 60fps in high resolution mode.

Parn upgraded his whole PC, pretty much. He's got a Core 2 Duo setup but he bought a filler video card (A Nvidia GeForce 7600 something or other) Anyway.. he can run in 60fps @ 1024x768, but not at 1280x1024.. In addition to that, he can't run at 60fps at all with AF enabled at all.

In addition to this, with my tests, I can run 60fps on my Radeon X850XTPE but there can be some lag in Mizuraki if someone uses one of the crazier cut-in chats. Also, I cannot run at 60fps with AF on unless I lower the resolution to 800x600.. Otherwise, once I touch Mizuraki, the game goes at about 45-50 fps.. and since PSU on the PC has no frameskip at all, it's just in slow motion and very annoying.

So, yeah, you do need a pretty beefy video card for PSU PC to run at 60fps, unless you like to play in 640x480 or possibly 800x600. Having a mid-range video card won't do it at high-res and a high-end video card is $300-$400 easily.. a good majority of the cost of a 360.

So you can drop the "decent gaming rig" PC bullshit.

A decent gaming rig PC just having the video card, motherboard, processor and RAM alone is going to already be over $800.

Yeah, you're right... PC is only good if you already have a decent one. But don't think your precious 360 version isn't just a port as well. A well edited port, but still a port. 360 version still has blob shadows, for one.

I don't really expect the game to be pristine on my aging laptop. I'm getting the PC version in anticipation of the desktop I'll have in two or three months, which should be able to run it beautifully. But seriously, who cares? All us supposed graphical laggers will be lumped on a seperate server from the X360 elitists anyway, so it's not as if either group has to worry about the other. Just play the game, have fun, and stop the stupid console wars.
