Our 360s are reliable. I know they break and I definately know my 360 will run more then 12hours frequently with PSU coming out.

What are yall thinkin about this?

Microsoft will replace your unit for free if it happens. I think by now most of those "red circle of death" issues have been resolved, though.

Most of the problem would probably be the inconvenience of having to wait to get your 360 back.

How do you know of this. I thought they only replaced systems up to 1/106 manufactured before THAT date. Mine is well past that date

Ha, well, in that case it seems you have even less to worry about, then.

If you have a 360 manufactured in '06, chances are you're going to have better reliability. They added a more reliable/quiet Samsung DVD drive in and also some extra thermal padding for heat dissapation. As time goes on the models will see a few more changes to better boost cooling and reliability. If you have a launch model though, and it hasn't gone..it's a ticking time bomb.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you about the launche 360s being ticking time bombs. If a console won't overheat while on for almost a month straight its not gonna. Maybe later on when more processor intensive games coem out for the 360 you may see a whole lot dying but thats just speculation.

Oh, to check your maufacture date check on the back near the AV jack there should be a date there.

mines a 11/05 model, its damn noisy but other than that i havent had any problems i dont expect to either

wish i had bought a later model now really dindt want a console that sounds like a hoover, its easy enough to get used to if you have it on all the time

strangely enough i only bought this around march time (when they started to appear common place in the uk) it was definately sealed so im surprised i got such an old model

Ha! ticking time bomb? My 360 is from launch and I have never had a problem with it. Playing hours of Oblivion, Perfect Dark, and Topspin2 it has never froze and there haven't been any error messages either. It has run smoothly the whole time.

They will only replace it if its within the 3 month warranty that comes with it OR if you purchased the 2 year warranty offer that was in the box when u bought it initially. I bought the two year contract cuz it was only $60 and seemed worth it.
