This download is ridiculous

Hey,

I started this download at around 6:30am this morning, and its just taking forever. It's currently 1:30pm and i'm only at 58%. In fact, I've been at 58% for about an hour and a half.

Do you guys think I should restart my system and let it reconnect to the download server? Just leave it on and keep it going? This just seems abnormal that its taking so long and I have no idea to check if its still even downloading anything.

Sounds like a problem on your end. It could've been downloading fine and you just walked away for a few hours to come back and find it like this.

Thats crazy mine was finished with no more then 30 min. I was actually quite suprised how fast it went.

Yeah I just turned off my system and restarted the download, and it went back to 1%...never saw that before. Usually if you turn off the system and go back to redownload it later it goes back to whatever it was at when you turned ito ff.

This is really aggravating...

I was also downloading it since around 6 AM. At around 11 AM it was at 54% and not moving. I restarted and it went to 1%. It's now 1:30 and I'm at 8%. God help me.

Edit: I just restared the 360 and now I'm down to 4%. This makes no sense.

i downloaded around 11 cst it downloaded in 20 minutes tops. im not playing cuz my friend is playing oblivion. sucks its not working for you.

are you guys restarting the system or just the download? when my downloads stop i just cancel them then restart them not the system. and they resume from where the stopped.

When you restart the system or download its supposed to resume the download where it was before. That's what its always done with other downloads.

Wow, took me an hour, that's it. Started it at 12:30pm, my lunch hour, finished at 1:25pm. I have a cable internet connection, DSL may be slower.

I have cable, and I usually never have these problems. I was just gone for a couple hours and came back to see that it wasn't downloading anymore. At first I was excited, thinking that it was done, but I was wrong. Something booted me from the download server! I just restarted and I am at 1% AGAIN! WTF! I am getting uber pissed.

If you go afk from the system it usually goes into its "power saving" mode and stops downloading...

just... wiggle the analog stick a bit every 5 minutes or so...

I'm on DSL and d/l it this morning it in 40ish minutes. Sounds like you need better high-speed service =D

Just started downloading this when I got off from work... probably won't be done for a couple more hours, my guess is that there is alot of traffic.

Oh, one more thing...

I just downloaded the demo in about 30 minutes, just now. Like, 20 minutes ago.

I can't log in or anything... but hey, it's downloaded, heh heh.

Yeah, I got rid of my router and plugged in directly to the modem and now its going, bit slow, but at least its moving.

I'm at work now though...I get off at 10 so hopefully its done by then and I can log in!

I see I'm not the only person with problems trying to download the demo. I can't get mine off of 1% and thats after stopping and restarting after no movement after an hour or so. I'm gonna wait until the morning so there won't be so many people trying to download this thing.

My internet service is great. I download things from Live all the time and have no problems whatsoever. I don't know what the hell is causing this. My friend who lives about 30 minutes from me just downloaded it in a half hour. Like I said before I'm been trying since 6 am. I was at 11%. I just deleted the file and tried to start over. Probably won't help, but its worth a shot I guess.

I've been trying to download the PSU demo all day since 6 am. I'm getting like 2% an hour. If I shut off my system I lose about 4%. I have never had a problem downloading anything else. I download demos all the time with no issues. All of my friends were able to download this demo in a matter of a half hour or so. I tried to disconnect my router and run the 360 directly to the modem. It didn't make any difference. Any ideas of what the problem could be?

Edit: Just wanted to add, I ran a speed test on my internet connection while the demo was downloading and I got something like 4300/275. The bandwith IS there, its just not being used.

its a problem with xbox live and your router. I would be able to download demos and then the next day I couldn't. Call xbox support they will have open certain ports on your router . It worked for me for awhile,then It started doing it again and I just went out and bought a new router and haven't had a problem since
