View Full Version : Why do people kick without explanation?

I just got kicked like twice in a row about as soon as I got into the mission. What's up with that?

You can manually kick people in PSU?

*grins*

It's the Internet. People are too stupid to password their games.

Undubbed
Oct 15, 2006, 11:05 AM
If you're the leader yes.

And I swear I didn't do anything wrong.

Can't people just lock the mission if they don't want anyone to get in?

Yoiyami

Like Kyu said, it's the internet. Asking people to do something that makes too much sense is just too much of a demand, so it's best not to let small stuff get under your skin. Expect silly things to happen when you're dealing with other people. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

If you did nothing wrong, then there's nothing to worry about. Just go to another mission-thingy. You'll find an awesome group eventually. <3

People haven't learned to passord their games, that would take too much effort.

...or else they're screening you as you join by your name, if you don't have a leet name like cloud7849 or sephiroth79 they boot you.

some people want higher level players to insure a better chance at S rank on missions. Lol i remember when people complained about not having a boot option and now we are gettin complaints about the boot option. The world is a strange place indeed.

I remember joining a few games yesterday and I had the headphone thing on...

I got a bunch of kids yelling

"HOW DID YOU GET IN MY GAME WHO ARE YOU HOW DID IT GET IN MY GAME OH MY GOD!"

I was tempted to kick a kid from my group yesterday. I think him and his brother were taking turns, or he was just insane and talking to himself about their chicken dinner. It was very odd o_O

I was probably the one who kicked you. Gtfo my PSUs. I'll kick you again if you even come near me.

Actually, I'm just shooting out of my patooty. That has even happened to me, lol. People don't quite understand yet that anyone is available to join your mission so long as your game isn't full or locked. As Yams said, it's the internets. Just retry joining another mission.

Though, getting kicked out of games like that is certainly discouraging to join random games.

Well, we had to boot someone. There were only 4 of us and the idea was to get some people of similar level together then head for a L20 mission. There was no restriction but figureing L10 monsters would deter most people.

Not true of this guy. Comes right in at L1. Did ok too. Didn't die once, although I spamed Resta on him...

We PLed him to L5 and sent him on his way. After we got the mission complete screen and made it to the lobby. We wanted to make sure he got it ya know...

It's just the new players don't know that's how online PS games work, you either leave it open and anyone can join, or you password it.

That was the the good thing about PSO, you could meet new friendly people all the time, the first-time 360 players seem to think joining an opened game unsolicited is a crime, "OMG I don't know you, GTFO"

No, cause thats a single player game, this only applies to this theory which mainly applies to free online games

Normal Person + Online Anonymity + Audience = Total Fuckwad

Please tell me one free online game that doesnt have tons of little flaming asshats

That's a little better. A lot do play an online game for free and make a total ass of themselves. By saying "games" in general, I would have been all like:

I hail from the Recycle Bin.

I have come to play all of your games...FOR FREE!

RO is p2p... You must mean private servers.

Anyway, I see your point. You're saying that free games attract people that don't really want to play the game. They make enjoying the game difficult for the people that do want to play. The monthly fee will keep those types of people away.

That's what you were trying to say, it was just worded kind of poorly...

You would think passwording a game would be an obvious option for someone to select. Instead they want to make the extra effort to boot someone everytime they come into the game, when they just wanted it private.

FrogKicker
Oct 15, 2006, 06:20 PM
Yea..it sure is just plain old obvious isn't it? Or some of you could just be morons. I will not password my games and I will continue to kick people from my games. Is it laziness? You bet, but not on my part. When a level 3 joins my group and I am in relics and lvl 17 you can bet your sweet ass he is getting booted.

Xeraphim
Oct 15, 2006, 06:23 PM
That's different. It's been awhile since GC PSO online, but when looking at options for rooms to join, didn't it say the levels of the people already inside the room? If it doesn't, does it now? If it does, then I understand your point. If not, no reason to be rude about it. It'd figure the Lv 3 would have enough common sense to leave though.

If its possible it would probable be better to list the level range of the people in your group you want to join, but if they totally ignore it then ya, I'd boot them too.

FrogKicker
Oct 15, 2006, 06:25 PM
Yes it does say the levels of people in the group. They just want to leach for free xp.

Cigaro
Oct 15, 2006, 06:27 PM
Yes, it's one thing when the people in the room say "Hey, we're waiting for a friend/we need a higher level person, can you leave?", because that's not being a complete cockface. Most would leave, and if they didn't, then boot them.

What's annoying is when people act like you totally just fucking h4xx0rt their s3rv0rz and ruined their entire day by joining their open game.

This is why I don't voice chat on games, and I never will.

BioWarrior
Oct 15, 2006, 06:28 PM
Its probable not so much of a problem though once you get to B or A rank missions atleast.

FrogKicker
Oct 15, 2006, 06:29 PM
What does voice chat have to do with being a prick and booting people?

Stupid people are everywhere, not just on the 360. I see plenty of em here all day and I don't see voicechat anywhere.

People care about rank thats why. If im playing a mission that has lvl 15 mosters and a level 5 joins in I'm kicking him out

You've obviously never been called a "nigger faggot" by a 12-year-old nasally-voiced prepube. It's something that's five hundred times more grating and annoying when heard rather than read.

I think people should have to earn an internet license in order to get online.

The minimum age would be 16, just like a driver's license. If you don't have one, you can't get online.

FrogKicker

But if there were a internet license only being given out at the age of 16, then all those porn sites would lose 99% of their customers...
