Dates listed are 99% of the time the shipping date. So unless you know a place that gets shipments really early the day a game is supposed to ship you can usually infer that the game should be available 1-2 days after the ship date at most retailers.

Ah, the things you learn after working retail for years...

So if you preordered online on overnight shipping you should get it on the 26th?

it depends on where you live. some places will get it the 24th while others the 25

Yeah, if your place ships early, then you get it the day it's shipped. If not, gotta go back on the 25th. It mosts cases, they release the day after they are shipped; most stores won't bother to put up new games on the shelves during open store hours, they'll do it beforehand.

Oh man, I hate it when that happens. I went to go pick up my copy of Kingdom Hearts II for 4 days straight, and on the 4th day, they finally got it, -_-

I'm on the West Coast, so if my EB doesn't have it on the 24th, there's going to be some angry letters written to their corporate office that'll never be read!

I thought that the standard was...

The day it is said to come out is the shipment date if it is pre-ordered. The day AFTER that day is the day it is put on the shelves.

Therefore, the 24th is shipping day of PSU IF you have pre-ordered. Otherwise, most (not necessaraily all) stores planning to receive PSU will have it on their shelves around the 25th-27th.

I have had great luck with Preorders on games via Amazon and getting then the day of release or no later than the day after release. At least on releases that are fairly popular.

I hope I at least get my copy by the 26th because on Thursday nights I have stay up all night and game (due to the hours I work) so if I don't get it by then I will not get to play it until the 30th, http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

As far as Gamestop, EB and BB they usually don't have the games for sell until the next day after the Shipdate. Of course sometimes the game publisher ships it actually ahead of time and they do. Pretty much it all boils down to luck.

Well I think if you live on the west coast you will recieve it on the 24th but people more near the east coast will recieve it on the 25th. It all depends were you live. I live on the east coast and gamestop told me it would arrive on the 25th.

wow... the 25th... the gamestop up here in washington told me that it was going to be out on the 24th, and I was pretty sure that was true because the official website for PSU says "the battle begins october 24th"...

http://www.phantasystaruniverse.com/index.php

unless of course that battle referred to a battle between all of the shipping companies http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Do any of you know if they'll offer a pay-to-download service on their website? I know they did for the JP release, and that'd be easier than going to pick it up.

I don't know if they'll offer it over here Elleranda. Digital distribution is still in its infant stages and I doubt Sega of America is gonna hop on DD just yet.

That is how it is with every game. I don't know why they post the ship date everywhere. I guess they want a gamer to rob the next truckload of games....

lol, no. From the word 'telly' I'd assume you live western europe, in which I've heard has a different approach to shipping/release dates. If not, my bad, but only a very very VERY small majority will get it on the 24th. These are the stores that are rediculously close to either the a distribution center shipping from Sega or their one of the retail chain company's distro centers. The dates on the web for American versions of games are almost always the ship dates.

There is a Sega office/headquarters in San Francisco and I'm in San Jose, I hope that's close enough to get it on the 24th.
