That's what units are for http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
seriously, if a few points in a stat bother you enough to be the deciding factor in your character, just get a unit to balance it out

A lot of people over exaggerate the force cast and newman hunter or a beast ranger. Its not that bad.

Humans' weakness is that they have no advantages...

...but the Humans' advantage is that they have no weakness! =P

I put up Human Protranser because evidently Protransers are gimped in every area except their ability to use big traps, and that their supposedly pitiful stats are a joke when stacked on top of the humans' balanced stats. I personally don't care, I'd love to play a Human Protranser alt. It'd be a refreshing change of gameplay from Fortefighter/Fighgunner.

VanHalen
Oct 15, 2006, 10:56 PM
hmm sounds interesting but what if the trap damage for protransers is doubled making them stronger they are trap masters http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

If you think it's hard just because you don't have the ultimate stats, then maybe this game's to advanced for you; go play Barbie Horse Adventure.

Bring on the forks! and the new hybrid class the spork!

My friend is going to be a Beast Guntecher. That's about as going against the norm as it gets. He'll probably be fine though. He'll do more damage than all the other rangers because he's a beast, he'll have good accuracy because he's part ranger, and he can heal with a wand if he needs to. Plus, he gets to Nanoblast http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I think so, as a wartecher you can buff/heal yourself, and inflict silence/freeze on your enemy. With some skill you could be better than some beast fortefighter

Yea, S-rank, and with the newman's EVP you'll pretty much be an assassin type.

I'm almost definatly making a female Newman Fortefighter or Fighgunner, although not sure if it'll be my first character or not. I tried a female newman hunter during the 360 beta and it doesn't seem to be too bad, although even at low levels seems obviously weaker. My newman also tended to go flying when hit, especially by a critical. That is actually sort of nice since it knocks you away from the enemies so less chance of chain hits, although the individiual hits are bigger than my other characters.

I think at higher levels it'll actually be less of an issue as while the gap gets bigger, gear will help close it some and higher enemy stats will likely smooth things out some as well so it probably won't scale too badly in favor of the other races, although you'll be at a disadvantage when the other race meets the min requirements for some items first.

blame you! nah, you're just playing what you want cause you think it's cool, just so happens it matches up well.

I chose beast Figunner as my main cause I wanted to, I knew about the lower ATA on beasts but what does that matter. Same goes for my newman Fortefighter

I will make one character of each race for online, eventually. And, if this game turns out to be as awesome as GC PSO was for me, then eventually I will attempt to max out my levels in each of those four characters. So, in the end, it won't really matter. I'll play every race/class combo in the game.

To start with I'm doing something that surprises even me, which is to say: I'm *not* starting out as a newearl. I'm starting out as a beast. They look so interesting and they *are* brand new, so I sort of feel this need to start out as a newearl. Sort of like how I focused on HUcaseal and RAmarl on GC before getting back to playing as my belovéd newearl.

Oh! ~ and like Candor said, if you're that worried about stats, that's what units are for.

If you're a beast ranger lamenting your relatively low ata, don't forget you can get ata-boosting units. It's not like you'll be sacrificing atp, since you already will have the best atp.

Similarly, I would think a FOcast with mst-raising units might be cool since they will prolly have enough hp to not die if the wind shifts! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Play. What. You. Want.

My main character will be a newman Wartecher but ill most likely max both Wartecher and Fortecher on her.

I wont do the *most* damage in the party but I seriously doubt having issues getting into parties since I will have all of the buff/debuff techs and the ability to heal.

I'm going Human Fighgunner, don't know if thats going against the stats or whatever. I'm sure he can do good as he doesn't suck at either, he's not as good as a cast in either aspect, but he's better than a beast in the ranger part and better than a newman in the hunter part, so I guess it evens out.

I'm playing human force, but I would be regardless of stats.

Ultimately, it isn't going to make a big enough difference to drastically ruin your game. So no sweat.

lol human? gimped? thats funny human characters are great there strong cause they have no weakness

Human: *poses and smiles*

they also are balanced

Human: *stands on head while other races have problems doing that*

but there not extroidinary there biggest weakness

Human: *tries to impress everyone one with what he made but everyone made something better*

but they are also highly customizable

I haven't totally given up on Newman Wartecher. >.>

From what I've seen daggers are pretty powerful and even wielded one-handed deal decent damage...however Wartechers will have to carefully assign their points towards their melee/weapon skills. Haven't seen a Wartecher in action though...you can have a wand in your off-hand, right?

I think I've decided that only time will tell. My first character will be a Newman...I'll play Force to 5 and then check out my damage dealing/survivability as Hunter.

For comparison I plan to make a Cast and a Beast as well. Its free to make extra characters and if I end up not liking Beast I'll just delete it. ^_^
