I know alot of you have had problems and i'm not trying to be selfish...I'm not whining, kicking, or screaming I just want some help....(I have called my internet service provider and a bunch of other people.) I have been retrying for several hours (about 18 total) over the course of three days... I have tried setting my IP from automatic to static (no results) and several other tactics with no luck.

My friend is playing the beta, his settings are basically the same....Except when testing his connection to xbox live his NAT says confirmed and mine says strict....I am not very good with computers but I have enough knowledge to figure out that this 'strict' setting might be holding me back (since it provents sessions and limits my ability to find people)....Does anyone know how I can change it? I have NO CLUE.... I am lost and would really appreciate any and all assistance. Thanks in advance.

You're NAT (if I'm not mistaken, and I could be) has to do with what ports are open on your router.

That's about as much as I can give, because I'm not so hot with routers, and I don't want to say anything that'll screw your's up/

Any idea how to change it? Like I said I don't know alot about computers and I basically have to D.I.Y. with everything since the people I live with know even less.

lol, uh, i was kind of hoping for the Router's manufacturer and model name/Number. But if you know how to get into your routers management tool you could try going into it and setting some port settings. Opening Ports 3074 on TCP and 3074 and 88 on UDP and directing those routed ports to your xbox's IP (which should be found on the main page of the management tool.) then that might fix your problem. Like someone said if its just a problem with the NAT you might beable to route past it.

Sorry, like I said I don't know what i'm doing. It's a Netgear and WGR614 and I have no idea how to open my routers management tool....And I don't know how to route past it, I tried plugging my ethernet cable directly into the modem but I can't even connect for some reason when I do that....I called tech support and they said "Do a power cycle." And of course that didn't do shit.

Gosh, portforward.com has three different Guides for portforwarding with that router each for a different Firmware versions. If you could figure out which firmware version you have you could use them to forward the ports.
