Mood: Crazy for PSU!

Johnny Poster, someone, just like you, who is anxiously awaiting the release of PSU! How ya doin Johnny?

Johnny: *thumbs up*

GREAT! So Johnny, ya finally decided to join the perfect spot to meet some likeminded people about PSU?

Johnny: http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif

Awesome! Well...Since you're new here how about ya introduce yourself with a nice PSU related topic! Do you know what you want to post?

Johnny: http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif

Alright! Go for it Johnny!

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/red_folder.gif Poll: Newbie Here! What race and class do you want to be?

Great topic Johnny! What better way to introduce yourself than with a great poll such as this? But wait whats this?

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/red_folder.gif Moved: Poll: Newbie Here! What race and class do you want to be?

What is this crime!? Why would they move your poll Johnny? We better look in the topic and see whats the problem.

Omg another stupid newbie topic. -.- This is like 1 of 12321 polls asking the stupid question. Use forum search next time, NOOB!

Johnny: http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Its okay Johnny! Lets look into this forum search thing.

Search: Race/Class Polls
Results: 12321

Whoa whoa whoa! Looks like you're not the first one to ask this question Johnny. Maybe we shouldn't be surprised, afterall, if you could think up a question like this, ANYONE COULD, cause ya know what? You're not special.

Johnny: http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Its okay Johnny! Don't fret! Everyone makes mistakes but we can bounce right back up. Lets make a new topic. This time...Something a little more different. Ya ready Johnny?

Johnny: http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif

Lets do it!

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/red_folder.gif My thoughts on Guntecher.

Awesome topic Johnny. Presenting new ideas is a great reason to start a new topic! Whats this?

On 2006-10-16 11:20, Jane Poster wrote:
Yeah these ideas are great and all but...Guntecher can only get lvl 10 techs anyway. Besides, you need a rod to cast techs, so your ideas are worth crap now. AND you can't use laser cannons as a guntecher either.

WHAAAT? Only lvl 10 techs? And you can't cast techs without a rod? And I can't even use the mighty laser cannon? What kinda bullshit is this. PSO wasn't like this! OMG Sega has totally screwed up this game! I bet this makes you angry Johnny!

Johnny: http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_mad.gif

Whoa calm down Johnny! Lets release your frustration and let everyone know just how much you think this game sucks now because of Sega's horrible design desicions.

Johnny: http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Its okay Johnny. Maybe its for the best. Afterall, nobody really wants to hear you whine and complain about a game you're going to buy and play anyway. Its better just to deal with the downs of the game and enjoy the ups. Well okay Johnny...You have new found wisdom and a great new outlook on PSU! No more ruined topics for you! Go get 'em and make a great topic Johnny!

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/red_folder.gif A great way to enjoy PSU!

Awesome! This topic is gunna do well, I can feel it!

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/hot_red_folder.gif

Woo! Looky there, people are really enjoying your topic! But wait...Whats this?

Calm down Johnny. We know not to bicker and argue, that only leads to locked topics. Keep your topic on course.

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/lock.gif

LOCKED!? But how? We've done everything we could! I guess...Sometimes topics a doomed. Afterall, you can't stop the trolls from posting in your topics. Sometimes theres nothing you can do.

Johnny: http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_no.gif

I know it sucks Johnny, but cheer up! Not all topics fail. Keep trying and you'll be a masterful poster! And that goes for you too kiddies! Just remember these simple rules...

1) No repeat topics.
2) No crying about percieved design flaws in the game
3) No stupid bickering and argueing in a topic
Addendum: If you absolutely MUST argue, take it to the PMs.
4) No dumb ass poll topics, or seemingly random topics that have close to nothing to do with PSU
5) Don't feed the trolls.
6) Don't be so eager to create a topic that you begin doing so with no good subject in mind. Remember: replying to other topics increases your post count just as quickly.

If you can follow these simple rules you'll be a winner in PSU General! Right Johnny?

Johnny: http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif

ALRIGHT!

Nicely done, but two concerns:

1) If not stickied, will disappear within a day behind the very posts you are trying to stop.

2) A lot of kids are the ones responsible for these kinds of posts, and even if they read this which it's likely they won't, chances are they won't get the picture anyway, lol.

Agree whole-heartedly though ;P...

Although this thread is the most amusing, it seems like bashing and pointing out duplicate threads is becoming a more of a fad now.

And the irony of it is, there have been quite a few "Stop making stupid/duplicate topics" threads and posts. This is just the most creative one yet. So in a way, these types of posts and threads are hypocritical... >.>;;

But again, this has been the most creative. Pretty much a PSU version of Posting and You (http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting.php). XD

For some reason you think quantity = quality.

Lets take a mod for example, they are some of the longer term members, and you dont see them posting in every topic every other second. They post when they need to.

You do realize youre calling mods and the Admin of this site: http://www.pso-world.com/user.php?op=userinfo&uname=Tomeeboy noobs because they dont post pointless messages.

Quantity =/= Quality, and it's best to learn that.

I'm going to clean this thread up, and sticky it.

No more arguments over post counts, people. Remember, it's not about how many posts you have, it's what you did with them. Make every one count.

YAY! LONG LIVE STICKIES!
And thanks Meira for that. I was about to say that Tomeeboy has no time to post because he has to update the site.
How do you manage to use an admin as an example though? I wouldn't dare.

One thing to keep in mind is that the forums will be split like they are for PSO and that alone will make a HUGE difference in the amount of repeat topics posted. Having one forum for PSU is sometimes difficult to navigate as well as moderate because so much stuff gets posted that topics that might answer someone's question get pushed back 3 or more pages. Forum Search should always be a first step in looking for something/info. If that fails though sometimes you can go through half a dozen pages or more trying to find something which leads to more repeat topics.

Also keep in mind that the game is new and by the very nature of it being new, there will be more questions and more new members joining that have questions about it. As Tomeeboy has mentioned in another thread, new things are being worked on currently for the site and eventually everything will be up to speed so bare with us http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

It would be nice if people were not soo rude about topics being repeats.

Rather than a quick flame and or link to any similar topics, if the question was important, maybe they could post the information they learned in the other topic(s) and then post the link to them.

But its really not going to happen when people care more about the number of times someone "failed" on a message board.

Problem is, there are people who do this over and over again. Even when I did take the time to explain and then link topics that were similar, people would still do it. The real simple solution is for that person to take the time to do some research then post if theres confusion rather than post every time they have a thought on their mind. They shouldnt rely on the posters that do take the time to answer questons to do it every single time.
Some people just dont learn or refuse to learn.

One or two repeat topics is fine, but when it gets to the point wheres theres 20+ repeat topics a day (especially the fact when they are all on the same page), thats when its out of hand.

It's not at all, I think, that people don't or refuse to learn. I honestly think people are incredibly lazy and just don't want to take the time and research themselves. Posting is an easy way out.

Nayte
Oct 17, 2006, 07:45 AM
Either that or maybe they are just seeking attention? You're right though, it is mostly laziness because the thread starter know someone else will search the correct thread for them.

HAYABUSA-FMW-

Some courtesy is nice of course.

You don't gain e-props for being able to say "this has already been posted before."

If its just another one of those "hey how do I play threads", sure do your worst if you feel like it I guess, you can't force a community to be helpful.

An issue about losing access to be able to play at all would be important for someone to relay the info(of the cause) they learned in another thread, which was pushed 3 pages back by clutters of junky topics- not located on the first page.

Hi, I don't really know if I am in the right forum to ask this, but the thing is that I have the PSO for Gamecube and although it's an interesting game and everything, I always think of it as a slow and quite repetitive game... Does PSU is similar in this to PSO? In my last game, I saw I had played like 200 hours, well, I think that is a lot... Well, as you can see I am not that fan... Do you think PSU will be kind of the same form me? And finally, maybe, well this is a stupid question, but I have to ask, Pc games have to pay something for the online connection when playing PSU online?

Thanks.

i just made my account here on pso-world but ive been using it for actually about 3 years now. and now i have a 360 and psu and all that and ive been playing psu online and offline and also extra mode. and im focusing on extra mode right now thats my main character and its a level 35 but i still cant buy anymore weapons than above C rank in the stores. not one store has been updated yet and i dont know why could someone tell me reasons why it wouldnt of updated by now or tell me when they will be updated like at what level or whatever cuz every other time ive played their updated by the time my character is level 35. i need B rank items lol. if someone could help thatd be great.
