No, the Beta ends on the 18th. As in, Oct. 18th at 11:59 PM. They aren't going to extend it, they're just seeing how much more lag they can induce on the final day of play-time.

Why do you think there's only 3 hours left? XBL will be down tomorrow, yeah, but the Beta isn't slated to end until Wednesday afaik. And when they say 12am on Wednesday, I believe they really mean the END of Wednesday. So there will be at least one more full day for the PSU beta for sure.

And why do you think there are 3 hours left anyway? Xbox Live goes down at Midnight (half an hour from now).

Xbox live maintenance is up t o 24 hours not 24 hours. It will be probably be done 2 pm pst

Microsoft announced today on the official Xbox web site that scheduled maintenance will be taking place on October 17th, starting at midnight PST. The outage will effect both the Xbox Live service and Xbox.com web site and is estimated to bring them offline for as long as 24 hours. Services are planned to resume on October 18th.
