PSU: 360 players do you plan to get a USB Keyboard?

It never crossed my mind but now i think I will cause sometimes its difficult to understand the other players with everyone talking and sometimes the lag was affecting the voice chat in the beta. The in game keyboard sucks on the controller.

I NEED a USB keyboard, heh heh.

Still going to use voice chat in tight situations like boss fights though.

it helps communication in the lobbies too. No more trying to talk over 20 people just to start a party.

I'm going out next week to buy one... gotta have one to talk in the lobbies... and I'm not so fond of always talking over voice chat with new people so sometimes I'll just use the keyboard.

Some people prefer voice and some prefer text only, I'm going to be prepared for both.

Out of the handful of people in the beta I encountered who used voice chat, i could barely understand any of them. either the stream sounded like first-generation Real Audio being or the people just could not annunciate their words and just mush-mouthed everything.

I'm not too enthusiastic about it.

There is an official Phantasy star Universe keyboard as well for pc and ps2 but its usb.

I certainly didn't play the Beta as much as most of you, so I understand that my experiences are somewhat limited however, the other players I encountered were largely indifferent towards a chat method. Personnaly, I prefer text to voice when dealing with strangers but I prefer voice to text when dealing with an aquaintence. My preferances being what they are, I found my USB keyboard indespensable when communicating with the general public.

Why you'd want to use a keyboard over voice is beyond me. That is, unless you're a chronic smoker who lost his voicebox.

Anyway near all of the people of the people i partied had voice. only like 5 or 6 didn't. i could and hear all ppl well(even though some better than others but very improved from original xbox i still wonder how i ever heard wat ppl said on the first xbox)

no voice in lobbies so its kinda helpful when your not in a party. but when i come to think of it it is actually essiantial(sp)you need it for mail when you and your buddies arent in the same universe

I have a usb keyboard from logitech that I got when I built my current computer. What happened was that I spilled lots of water on it making a few keys not function and have the keyboard software go crazy. But for some reason I actually kept the keyboard. Then I thought if it might work again after about 10 months of it being stored up and it does work it's just that some keys on it makes the keyboard software go crazy.

Apparently it only affects Windows XP cause it worked perfectly with the 360 and it I'm sure It'd work with the Linux that I'm using now but my PS/2 keyboard is just fine so now I'll use the USB keyboard for the 360.

i bought a usb keyboard a few months ago off newegg.com for about eight bucks, and have only used it for typing in information and navigating the dash until PSU. however, as my mic is currently broken, its a nice way to do it. plus, nobody can hear your mic in the lobbies.

im glad there isnt mics in lobbies because you dont have to hear a bunch of little kids screaming all the time. and the in game keyboard is good enough for me.

I've had a USB keyboard for years that I got for $5. I'll mostly be using voice chat, but its always nice to have the keyboard as backup.

yea ill prolly get a usb keyboard voice lag and i listen to music when i play so its easier to type than pause the music and un mute my mic every time i wanna talk

A majority of players in PSU x360 so far used on-screen KB or a USB KB....only a small few used headsets..

every party i was in people talked what universe were you all in? most people in universe 11 used their headsets. and i played with about 100 different people and about 12 of them didnt talk or communicate all all.

On the xbox three sixddy you CANNOT hotkey things. You can put a few pre-recored messages on the F1, F2, etc keys but they only seem to work with the D-pad. (?)

I was dead set against using one, but some folks on my friends list use one constantly, and so I must make life a little easier and pick up a keyboard for when the full game is out.

I've been using the soft kb since the original PSO... So, I'm thinking that I may have to give up on that and get a real one (for the 360 that is). Makes the life a little easier.

But, voice is still the first method of communication.
