How do you get an S-rank on a mission?

And... Do you need absolutely a force with you? or getting trough a mission can be done with 6 hunters?

Getting S-Rank normally consists of No one dying, Mission Beaten within a certain amount of time, and All enemies or certain amount of enemies killed.

You get an S-rank by defeating all enemies, clearing all rooms and finishing within a certain time frame; not difficult. I was finishing with S-ranks all the time with my startup character.

i think he meant with 1, you can solo and get S rank, just tae little to no damage, and , or kill a lot of monsters, do optional areas, etc

Ok thanks. So the game is not heavily oriented towards party formation right?

No, you don't need a Ninja, 3 damage dealers that can skillchain, a white mage and a bard to get good exps.

Partying up makes grinding more enjoyable and easier but it is far from necessary.

Thank God!

As you can see I too have been touched by FFXI's "This game feels more like my job" paw.

Remembering back in my old DC/GC PSO days, I want game that is a bit more casual. Hopefully PSU is it.

In RPGs, its doing the same thing over and over. Usually playing the same level again and again.

Grinding = Korean MMO.

/Attack <slime> 1,000,000x = 1 level

Oh yes, the mindless hours in gef_fild14 killing High Orcs for .001 exp was soooooo fun.
Look, an Orc Voucher, ZOMG!

How very true.

When i was playing FFXI, red mages were usually favoured over white mages but thats irrelevant.
As for RO:
Level up to 99 solo unless you're a GC sader, wiz or priest then do it all over again but 3x times harder yay!

Im glad you're not forced to party up becuase you cant -always- find a party. Much better when its casual like this.(Well, i cant).

Thats true, you can't always find someone to party with. Well there's always me and my lolibot(when I get it lol)

I was a Paladin. Mostly the last job to get picked up. And even when I did, exp didn't flow like having a Ninja tank or melee/ninja burn PT.

I just don't want to waste my night lfp and not being to do anything about it.

RO is second to only maple stroy in grinding. My god, I played on iRO for like a week before realising I was almost falling asleep. Then I switched to a high rate private server, and it kicked ass http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Anyway, this game is far more casual than games like FF11, iRO, and WoW. You don't have to waste your life to play it, or take forever looking for a party. It also is almost entirely dependant on skill. A level one, if they really tried, could probably take level 20-30 monsters and live, if the player was good enough and could dodge. It would take forever, though.

PSU is going to have two meanings for grinding, therefore it has the most grinding of any game.

So which is worse? Grinding for lvs, or grinding your weapons?

Arcanum
Oct 18, 2006, 09:05 AM
Grinding for levels is worst. It's when you start really hunting for your equips that it becomes bad-ass http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Aion_Clyuve

I'd say grinding weapons would be worse, cause there's always that chance, however small, that you uber-badass-weapon-o-doom is gonna break.

Or utterly boring. Because you could COMB THE DESERT for days in Blue Burst and not find shit.

Grinding your weapons.

step 1 - find rare board, rare ingredients
step 2 - synth combine
step 3 - wait X hours
step 4 - take out item, which has a chance of failure and if it fails you go back to step 1. Or maybe step 1b if the board allows multiple tries (unlikely for a rare).
step 5 - create/buy grinders which also need ingredients and boards.
step 6 - grind completed weapon till 10. If it succeeds congrats, but if it fails you're back at step 1.

Enjoy the grind!
