Does anyone know about the rares weps?

Yes simple as that.
There are rare/unique weapons. Though most of the time you're not gonna find them just drop on the floor. You're going to either have to buy, or find a Rare weapons synth board, then have to hunt down/buy the rare materials required to synthesize it.

Should!! you find them in a quest or something, (has it happened before, my main question), what does the box look like?

From what I've seen in clips, its burgundy coloured. One thing to note is that whenever a rare is picked up it announces it on the right side of the screen, so you can tell whos being greedy with rares.

It would appear anything rated 7* and above counts as 'rare' within PSU (as in, the "PLAYER X GETS" message will appear).

I don't believe a 12* anything has been found yet - even Offline. The highest so far is 11*.

Nope, no rares. You get a stick, a handfull of rocks and a spiffy lookin roll of duct tape.
