Has anyone else had this problem? Will sega unlock them?

Saner
Oct 18, 2006, 01:00 PM
its not locked as in locked and unlocking.

its locked because the data has been corrupted.

whether you were playing when the servers when down or changing servers when the servers were shut down, not logging out properly can corrupt the data and screw up everything.

I don't think there is a cure for this, and they definitely won't fix corrupted character data for a limited-time beta.

I'll check again later today but I think we got bad luck getting our data corrupted because they pulled the plug while we were still playing.

Saner, perhaps you should post this on the Sega.com forums? They need bug reports.

Well it froze while I was leaving my room and I had to go to the 360 dashboard. When I try it says "To try again in ten minutes."

If it says to try again in 10 minutes, then do that. Don't try again a minute before 10 minutes, I think it resets the timer.

It happened to me the first time the server went down abruptly.. I just went and watched something on TV.. I came back afterward and tried again.. Worked just fine. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

Delete what!?

Saner

IT WONT LET YOU MAKE A NEW CHARACTER!!!!

It just says the data is locked and it wont even give you access to the 4 slot character select/create screen!!!!

if one gets corrupted we're screwed!!!!

that's what's bothering us, the worst thing about this corruption/data lock is that we can't even make a new character, it won't let us.

Erm, instead of Enter go to Create; though I'm not completely sure, I haven't been back on since the servers went down.

Ah, I see. Did you report this to Sega?

Oreic

Yes, I reported two things to them. This and the room remodel problem.

I'll say it again. Post this on Sega's website so they know about this. You know... so this can be fixed before the actual release?

Edit - Nice work, Oreic. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I am going to be bummed if I get home to find I am still locked. I was kicked during the Sega server maint Monday night and then could not get back on before Live went down. The last few times I tried Monday night while Live was still up it was giving me the locked error. Hopefully it was just because Sega was working on the servers. Cross my fingers all will be ok tonight.

ya if all of us logged out before they shut down and started the maintenance, our data would have been fine.

anyways we need links to their email and stuff to complain to them directly because just one complaining isn't enough.

GRRRRR next time I hear about a maintenance on a certain day, I won't play at night the day before.

I just got the error for me. :/

But I waited ten minutes and tried again... And I'm logged in now.

For reference, I was logged in when the servers booted me (at least, might've been everyone), Monday night at around 10 PM CST.

Another note: I was level 19 when I was booted, and had Dus Daggas at level 11. Now I'm level 17, and have Dus Daggas at level 7. :/

I got the locked error. I waited 10 minutes and tried again. No luck. Waited 10 more minutes and it worked. I did get a rollback.

When logging into PSU I have been getting the following error msg for the last 48 hours:

Your data is locked due to an irregular ending process.
Please try again in 10 minutes.

Is anyone else getting this error? Any idea how to fix it? Otherwise I'm pretty much done with the beta...and possibly the retail version too.

Only about the 1000th post about this today. It's a demo, and maybe look around for the answer. Either that or look for anything that has Saner in it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Or, bye, bye. Your choice

Only about the 1000th post about this today.
Blame the board search feature then. I tried to search for another topic on the issue and came up empty.

Never play online games when you know major mainenence is coming.
Its been happening BEFORE and AFTER the xbox live maintenence. That isnt the reason for this error.

Bon Voyage.
What choice do I have? I cant force the server to let me on.

Well, the error message is rather blunt about your mistake. You failed to sign off properly, by either being kicked off or by your own hand.

From what I've seen, patience is key in solving the problem.

EDIT: But if you're going to quit a game because the Beta has a bug, I think you'd best find another hobby.

This bug should be fixed in the retail version, it happened to a lot of people last month in the JP release but seems to have been fixed

You people are rough on folks that have error messages. Its not really "quitting" if you have no choice in the matter.

Just did a forum search for you.

This (http://www.totalgeek.org) and this (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=121915&forum=11) were found under the word lockout. Guess nothing wrong with the board search features here. Even threw this (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=121954&forum=20) in for you.

You're welcome.

Edit:My bad, I ment the word "locked". The word that was in the title of your post. Next time you'll have to do the work yourself, instead of getting help from an ass.

We're rough on people who threaten to quit because of a bug. ¬_¬ Most of us don't feel the need to bother helping you if you're just going to quit over something so menial.

However, if you come here asking for help with a bug, and you sound open minded and willing to try the suggestions people give you, you'll find yourself being greeted with much kinder words.

My error message does not include the word "lockout". How would I know to search using that word? I wouldnt.

Thanks for being an ass.

You're error is the same as the one in the 2 links Shigecki so kindly offered you. You're "locked out" of PSU, so "lockout" would be an appropriate phase to search in order to remedy the problem.

However, I suggest you re-evaluate the way you address people who attempt to help you. If you continue to be hostile, you'll find yourself doing alot of the research yourself.

I dont feel like spending all night searching for the trigger word to find information on a problem. I made 3 or 4 attempts and just asked. I got nothing but trouble for it. Dont worry, I wont make the same mistake again.

My orginal post was simple and to the point. It was not hostile or insulting to anyone. However, nearly all responses to my post were rude. Even the so-called "help" was hostile. Its like being punched in the face and then the same person helps you back to your feet. Gee, how nice. Thanks for the help...*sarcasm*

Let's try to keep the hostility out of the posts http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Forum search is a good way to go, but there are occassions when it may be hard to find the right term/s to use in the search. Anyway, it was a simple question that only needs a helpful answer http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Jarek99, I wouldn't be so quick to give up on the game just because you have some issue/s with the beta. The game should be out in a week and although there may still be things that need to be ironed out (which is normal) I'm sure it will get fixed. Hang in there http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
