Hi guys, I was just curious as to how many of your are actually going to try and fill up your closet (so to speak). I know that for the first couple of weeks im going to be going crazy in purchasing 'cute outfits' but thats just me haha. Is there anyone out there like me? Anyone who could care LESS what their character looks like as long as they do crazy damage? Share your thoughts guys!

Poll: How many of your are actually going to worry about what your wearing in game?

I'll have one outfit for every character. For my cast, though, I'll stick with the starting parts.

Have you checked out PSUPEDIA's pictures of the cast parts? Some of them are very cool looking.

well Ima guy and i'm not into the whole "shop till you drop craze" all of my shopping will be handled in this order:

Pick out something that I like

wear it until I get tired of looking at it

buy a new outfit

rinse and repeat

i'm hoping that the CC has an outfit that matches what i'm thinking for my character, even so i'll have a few more outfits later on (rappy suit FTW)

Reeses
Oct 19, 2006, 09:18 PM
Haha, i saw that rappy suit! Genius imho haha.

But anyway, Candor, what type of character are you trying to portray? With all the styles ive seen im sure you'll find a match.

Oh yeah, my girl characters will have a few outfits each. I'm a big fan of customization.

Candor
Oct 19, 2006, 09:24 PM
Well it's a female beast and i kind of what to match the style of the Rogues from the Story mode (more or less the idea they represent) not the lame trio though. So pretty much ragid and tough, darker colors.

I'm not sure how often I'll switch. If there isn't enough outfits that fit a certain motif I'm going for, it won't be very full at all. Well, maybe until my 2nd character, which will probably be more clothing dynamic.

I'll be really curious as to how much stuff, updates will bring. Now keep in mind, staying fashionable is the *most* expensive hobby, in the game. Getting stuff to survive and thrive, is cheaper, overall.

And if you want boots, my advice is to make your character with them on. Fortunately, you don't pay for your default outfit, and boots are expensive. They generally are a show of class, most likely because of the cost. Kind of mimics some places in RL, doesn't it?

Here's an idea:

Make a character.

Make a second character with different clothes, stash them in the shared storage.

Delete character and make a new one with more different clothes.

Repeat until desired number of outfits is achieved.

Ok so the first thing i thought of when you said this was Louis Vuitton stiletto heels. If you dont know what that is, basically they are rediculously expensive shoes that have a bright red sole. Basically, fashionistas worship the ground you walk on with those shoes and it shows that you are... rediculously wealthy.

Other than that, im actually hoping that trends come and go in the game. Dont get me wrong, spikey hair humars were cool....once....and unfortunately their day never ended haha. But i think it would be cool if Sega decides every once in a while to throw in a couple new sets of outfits.

Heh, I'm gonna do that now.

Akaimizu

I never tried it. I always thought it wouldn't work because you didn't pay for them, I figured Sega would lock that ability out, for defaults.

Considering the extortionate/gargantuan/ridiculous price tags on some clothes, looks like there will be a PSU society torn between fashion police and frumpy hum-drum... much like the designer world we are thwart upon today...

If that somehow worked, too bad you can't do the same for accessories nor the other applications. You can't get those at character creation.

Also, I believe the majority of good designs aren't available by default. But that would be a start. Though for some reason, I'd find it hard to believe Sega would overlook that. Guess it's worth a shot.

As for the fashion police comment, me and my friend (who is also making a very stylish beast female) were thinking about making a little group who actually cares what they look like...constantly haha. As for being 'police', if you choose to wear the same thing every day in the game, more power to ya, you've prolly got better everything else than i do haha...

I really love some of the awesome look cast parts, especially the one that has a glass dome so you can see your brain haha.

Looking through PSUpedia, there are some awesome boots for humans and jackets and stuff like that, I definatly care more about the way my guy looks than his damage...but that means I have cool looking weapons too haha.

Well not to worry. Being a fashion diva does mean you have to go hunting, ALOT. You won't be short for EXP, oh no!! You will be constantly *sticking up* monsters for Meseta. Kind of like my ranger does.....with dual handguns. (Extra mode, currently)

Female/beast/hunter/fortefighter
Stong independent female like myself http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

As for clothing, definately wouldn't be dress, though I'd get one anyway whenever they open up that option. It would revolve around the color purple anything more specific is to hard, there are to many options.

When I first considered this game I was thinking of doing alot of treasure hunting for lovely weapons(or the parts to make them), now I'm torn to sell most of that stuff to keep up with my fashion sense.

The race is different. She picked a Newman. Mine is Human.
Needless to say, I wanted something that worked with a circus performer as well.
There were some nice stylistic high heels I could've bought and used, but I had to realize that this character is supposedly somewhat of a tom boy, and wouldn't be comfortable in heels that steep.

Plus the whites kind of stand out, and I kind of wanted them to, at this time.

I want my character to be decked out in pink..>.>

I haven't seen much pink clothes yet...

They better have some pink clothes..I'd be real blue if they didn't. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Well, one thing I found easy to do is to get and equip armor that runs on Photon Energy that is pink. If you look at my pic, that's the source of the pink, on the outfit. If I took that armor off, the pink glowing pattern disappears. I kind of stuck with that armor because the photon glow matches the hair. Otherwise, I might've gone for a different hair color to match.

Interesting I didn't know you could change the photon glow, I wasn't to happy I would be stuck with light blue all my life lol.

Yeah I Didn't think about the photon color. February is in pink armor right now. I really wish I could throw her in a variant of Karen's clothes. a black and pink version would be awesome.

Meh, I don't want to see clones of the single player characters walking around, -_-

Don't think it'll bother me, but I guess thats because I won't be doing much if any single player.

Wow, that's awsome.

I wonder if they'll release new things like every month as a bonus.

I just kinda wish the outfits were a bit cheaper.

Yeah, I know it's a cash-sink... but it kinda serves to discourage Joe-player from looking any different. I never really got a chance to try the few extra parts there were in the open beta, if only because the chestpiece was more expensive than the most expensive armor sold.

One of the reasons cast has been solidified as my race to play upon release was the rather poor initial outfits for the others. Yeah there's good clothing out there for humans and such, but it'd be more expensive than anything I purchase for the first 20-30 levels.

Glowing armor that corresponds to element is good. Not having that class ID marring your outfit is good... I've only played PSO episodes 1 and 3 so I'm not sure about the others, but it always pissed me to make a character in a green outfit and then get some atrociously-colored section ID on my chest.

I've already responded earlier, but I have to say this: PSU Phasion? Phasion sounds nothing like fashion. Can you change it to something more phonetic, like Phashion, or just Fashion?
