View Full Version : I found a nerd...(or hacker)

Sizzors

Yes, there was a level 42 and the number itself shocked me. Looking at his stats, he had 90,000 meseta, and a large array fo weapons, all B class, and all of his types were level 5+. Either he has literally been playing the game 24/7 since the beta came out, or he hacks. I think he is a nerd.
This scares me. He joined our party on plains overlord B, raped all the enemies in about 20 seconds, then while we were trying to charge our photon, he went to the boss and nanoblasted it. Since we did notthing, we got B ranks, and he probably got S rank. We had a password on our party, and he guessed it correctly, and our leader was in the bathroom. We could do nothing to stop him.
I think people like him shouldn't be allowed on PSU. He ruined our experience and then left the party, immediatly afterwards. I swear, if he has the paitence to go into passworded parties and guess the password, then he could easily do this to other people. Honestly, he has enough time to get through at least 5 rooms before he gets booted. Its very sad.

Oops...I need to preview more often, it 42...

1. Level cap on the Betas have always seemed to be lv30 for PSU.

2. Even in retail the level cap starts at 50

3. EVERYONE gets the same mission rank online in the group.

I expect most people like myself will not tolerate any volume of 'hacking' in this installment.

I'm sure SEGA have learnt a lot over the years since DC/GC & PC PSO. (I hope)

I don't believe the 30 cap, I've seen plenty of people above 30, its just 42 (sorry for typo) that scares me.

Also, the rank is different depending on how much you do or how late you join. If there is a boss and you don't fight it, that puts you down a rank, and if you join too late, that does too.

We'll it could be possible then that they raised the level cap for the 360 beta, but still... he could have been guessing the password repeatedly since I think its only numbers this time? and you get a penalty for joining mid-mission.

STOP ASKING ME THAT.

I don't have the time to find him again, and you can't check it for the PSU demo!

All I'm saying is I don't want people doing this in the real game, where they can steal tons of exp. before they're booted.

Next summer that's what I plan to do...PRetty much play all day some days...though I don't plan on just powerleveling...I might also hang out for a while in chat in lobbies....But I try to chat with peeps i play with..sometimes in Gunz that would get me kicked out of a game cause I like to have a good chat after I die

No, I'm afraid that you've found a nerd, not a hacker.

Haha I love chatting when I die, back in PSO days if I was dead at the boss I would chat to anyone else who was dead too.

Funny story, reminded me of MrConstipated! XD However, this story is likely bogus. Lv. cap is 30, & I doubt someone would bother guessing the code, much less not get booted because the leader took a 15 minute piss.

Anyway, reall or not, we can agree on one thing: people who do things like that will NEVER be respected. EVER. NEVER EVER EVER! ...EVER! ...

...ever.

No, you said you didn't know what the password for the game was. I asked how you joined a game you didn't know the password for. Back in PSO you had to have the leader start a game, tell you the password so you could join. Then I asked how you knew the password wasn't 5 digits since you didn't know the password.

1. The party leader set the password so I don't know it

I love how accusatory people are in online games, and how people underestimate the freetime of others.

For reference, there are several individuals on this planet that had successfully leveled the new classes from 1 to 75 in Final Fantasy XI's expansion Treasures of Aht Urhgan in under two weeks. Those of you who have played the game probably understand the significance behind this, and a lot of you never got past level 40, which is not even halfway to 75 because of how much XP you need.

So yeah, this is not surprising at all.

That makes sense.

I remember there were several players that were absolute MACHINES at leveling fast in PSO on GC. Tigereye was one of them. He got two characters to level 200 (a HUne and a FOmar, I think), both under 800 hours I think. He was the first SoaB/Heat Sword/Boss-jumping junky I knew.

He never used the recon box trick to level, but I'm sure plenty of people accused him of that, back in the day.

I know his name, but I don't readily check gamer tags in games. His PSU character was 12345

This is like the time where I typoed lv. 200 in DC Version 1...

Can't really believe this to tell you the truth. You could have EASILLY tracked this guy down by checking what his GamerTag was. Then we all could have took a look at him.

That is true. It is very easy to check the gamertag.

Shut up. Right now, if you accuse me of lying I need proof, show me where this lvl 30 cap is. Also, if you read any of the posts, you would know I was 18, it is stated at the top of page four. I am only 2 years younger than you, so if you're calling me sonny, you better be lying about your age.

Wow, the maturity has really gone downhill in this thread:p Why not give the poor guy the benefit of the doubt? He was only trying to warn us of a possible exploiter/hacker. If you don't believe him fine, but don't result to flaming. Those who are doing this are only bringing this community down, and makeing this place look more and more like the WoW forum.

That person who joined your game sounds like a disgrunted Maple Story player. The question is why would he bother to bardge into a lock game? Maybe one you did something to him in the past , thus his KS spree on your game.

Thank you, I am not bragging about my find, or trying to get attention, I'm just saying that I don't want people to do this in the real game.

eh, i think he is lying, and if your not party leader you can stilll check the party password by just going to the party screen and the pw is on the right.

You'll have to be WAAAAY more specific http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I beleive the story for 1 main reason. Who the hell would go out of their way to type up all that if it wasn't true? Why would someone spend time making up a story about someone over the supposed level cap and describe everything the way he did?

I'm not saying I am without doubts. The story may not be 100% accurate and I still do not know how he knew the persons amount of money, job levels and items. It seems a tad fishy but I see no real reason to put the story down all together.

This shenanigan is just too far-fetched. There is not a SINGLE fact in here that isn't horribly misguided!

Where did you get that from? I don't know what the password is, all I said was that the password wasn't 5 digits long, because you can only have 4 digits.

Apparently, the leader was AFK for 15 minutes while this guy got in.
Specifically, (which I excluded for for obvious reasons) our party leader said "Hey guys I need to take a shit, be back in abiut 10 minutes". And this guy only needed about 2 to get through the level

APPARENTLY, he forgot to remember his name, check for his GamerTag, or even look at his Recent Players List.
His name is meaningless, what I was trying to say is people are being exp. whores and I hope this doesn't happen in the retail game. Also, his PSU character name was 12345, his race was beast, and he was a hunter. I didn't check for gamer tag and they also don't show on your recent players list.

Not quite, by informing you that there are experience whores in PSU and that they will ruin your playing experience. I also gabe you a name, about 3 times now.
