Its 3:30 am CST. Bo is standing in a lobby while I post here, about to auto dc. I'm gonna go play with him or at least go in a game then zone out, occaisonally feeding his ata mag, and lurking our lovely forum for some obscure scrap of PSO info I have yet to glean from within.

Yay its 4:34 or so and I just had my first FSOD while clicking 'meet player'. Bo is 147 hours old at this time and thankfully I lost nothing.

I spoke too soon, I lost my Rappy Fan+26, Del Saber's Buster+9, Vjaya, and Varista+26 along with all the other crap I didn't have.. equipped.. omfg. I lost my 66 dex mag in the making that was lv107. Ok I'm royally pissed now and done playing with Boman for a good long while maybe. That mag was perfect .. Estella/Pilla/M&Y .. So close to using it. F U Sega give us v2 mags (Mark3!) from a quest again NOW. Please?

Yep, yep... FSOD sucks...Pretty bad, yep... It all could've been prevented, if you belived in using your bank, like I do. When i'm not playing in an active game, guess where everything I own goes? THE BANK. Think about it. Before you do something stupid, like you did, don't think about all the good things! Think about all the terrible things that could happen, in just a moments time. That's what prevents me from losing all the cool things I have. Even though it may take a little bit of extra time, hell, it's more than worth it, considering what I could lose.

I don't even worry about FSOD, as I am a virgin to it too. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif But I do know your pain, because I went through the same thing several times back on the DC version. And in opposition to what you stated, DB, I believe that thinking of what BAD could happen will ruin your PSO experience, so you should just put your stuff in the bank all of the time and never worry about FSOD again. This is an online game...FSOD is bound to happen. Just take it like the "man" that I know you are and let it pass. FSOD only wipes items, and that's because of the mechanism they used to prevent item duping.

The reason it saves every time you do ANYTHING is to preserve that one shining, important thing: Your CHARACTER. So even if you FSOD your latest save isn't more than an hour old. Wouldn't it suck to play for five hours, pass a couple of challenge stages and whatnot, then lose all THAT to an FSOD because you haven't quit and saved yet?

Sega thought so too. That's why it does that.

Personally I've been going for nearly 100 hours with no fsod, but I'm using a router with my BBA which probably helps. I also still use the measures that kept me relatively safe in V2 on Dreamcast:

Only carry 1 or 2 weapons, make sure the weapon you bring as an auxiliary (such as a gun for hunters for fragging mothmats or whatnot) isn't something you'd commit suicide if you lost.

If you insist on bringing in an irreplaceable weapon like an s-rank, KEEP IT EQUIPPED AT ALL TIMES. You don't drop your weapon when you die now, so now worries about stealing anymore!

Keep as much as possible in the bank. If you're not using it, PUT IT AWAY. You don't need to carry every weapon you own.

And most of all, remember: It's only a few items. You found them once, you'll find them or something better again. Count your blessings and get on with your life!

I wasn't trying to flame bait you... Just trying to give advice... Because, unlike most people, I actually care about the community we play in, if you ever go read my posts. I was just making a suggestion. It's what I do... So, i'm not trying to commit any act of insult, or harm. So, just chill. It's just a good way to avoid the pain of loss. Especially if you played alot of the DC version. I still remember not only the rare FSOD... But the almighty killer of items... The BSOD.

I don't go out of my way, to harm fellow PSOWers. Unless they are way out of line. As previously mentioned, just giving a bit of advice, take it or leave it as it is. And I probably wouldn't mind a game with you this weekend. It'd most likly be a blast! Sooo... Ya know how that goes.
