Instead of a credit card, can you have the money drawn directly from your account?

Yeah, I think CCs are the only way to go for now.

can't you use a debit card which acts like a credit card but is tied into your checking account?

Yeah, I know that, but I think I'm too young to get one.

Yeah, you have to be 18+ to get a visa credit/debit card.

Luckily, I have someone that doesn't mind helping me out. >.>;;

Usually banks have a student account system that will allow you to open a checking account with an adult co-signer. You can obtain a debit card using this method.

Wait, does Sega accept just debit?

I'm not sure of the required age, but I know it's no more than 14 years old minimum, because this was when I opened my first checking account.

Simply go with your parent or legal guardian to the bank you want to open an account and ask for information on opening a student checking account, then once the account is open, ask for them to issue debit cards to you for the account. The account will be registered in both of your names, and you should receive two debit cards in the mail, one for each account owner.

EDIT: Debit cards are essentially credit cards, so yes, any place that takes a credit card will take debit cards.

SECOND EDIT: Just a reminder to the OP or anyone who is wanting to rush and get a debit card using this method: it takes up to three weeks for your cards to be made and sent to you.

Does it have to be visa though? I just asked my mother about it and I already have all that stuff... And I forgot all about it. I wonder how much money is in there....

Well anyway, I do remember trying my debit card with FF11 and it didn't accept it because my card wasn't a visa debit card or anything. So I'm not sure.

Depends on which version. There are pre-paid cards which you simply buy at the store (in Japan) for the JP version, there is a possibility the US/EU version will utilize some form of this. Or, there is talk (not sure if it has been officially confirmed) that there will be a method to pay monthly using MS points on the 360.

You can ask about what type of debit card you may want, but I think you're not given a choice. Anyway, PSU should accept any Visa, MasterCard, or any other generic American credit card company issued cards. I'm not sure why FFXI didn't accept your Visa.

EDIT: Misread your post. What type of card do you have exactly?

Fool! I don't a visa, you sliced loaf of bread! It's just a regular old debit card. No visa logo on it or anything. So I guess they won't accept it.

That's alright. There's always the option of paying someone with a visa to pay the fee for you. *nodnod*

EDIT: Oh, I take the bread thing back. >.>;

I'm not entirely sure, actually. It's just a plain debit card. See, I'd go look, but mother dear did some cleaning and my information is within a safe that she cannot get open. But as far as I know, it's just...a debit.

Err? Weird.

Well, you could always you know, go back to your bank and ask, "WTF IS THIS CARD GIV ME SOMETHING USABLE," if you catch my drift.

Only if it is a Visa check-card. That is excepted everywhere because it can be used like a Visa credit-card.

Sega will not just except any debit-card.

So if you plan to do this because you are too young for a credit-card(you may be to young to get a visa check-card also), get a visa check-card from your bank.

So long as a major credit card company made the debit card will work on anything. It doesn't have to be Visa in specific.

I can't tell if this has gone off topic or not...

Anyway, If you've got a card with no logo on it but your bank's, that's most likely an ATM card. It won't do.

If you're getting 360 version, just use cash to buy the point cards for the 360. Other versions...dammit where's shard he has the answer to this one and was trying to give it to me a week ago.
