Question: When you reach the limit for Photon Arts (36) does this prevent you from learning any new Bullet/Tech/PA or do you have some way of deleting one of the old ones you have?

Yup, the game asks you to erase a old one if your already maxed.

When you attempt to learn your 37th Photon Art, it'll prompt you to delete an old one.

That's a relief...had a thought I might have had to think a thought about thinking.....scary

I don't know if it's related or not. But I was wondering if it was possible to know two of the same Photon Arts.
like A Force would skill up two Rez Technique Arts, so that they can use one in one of the staves, and then if that runs out they which to another staff with a another of the same spell on it, so they can have double the amount of that PP for that spell?

I hope this makes sense X_X

You only need to learn a PA, Bullet or Tech once. You can then equip it to any number of weapons.

No, you can't learn a PA you already know. I tried to have 2 Tornado Breaks on the Beta, but to no avail. You can only know the PA once, and it can only be assigned to one weapon at a time.

Oh, my mistake, I guess PA's are different from Techs. I never play Hunter so...

Uhh, what? I regularly carried around 4 pairs of twin daggers and had the same PA on all of them

You can get them back, but I don't know if they'll be at the level they were at when you deleted it.

aren't bullets skills and techs all known as Photon arts? and do you get a different set of 36 for each class? or is it your character in general?

Your character gets one PA list (36 total ) that all these skills, bullets, and techs go on

Well, I tried using another "Tornado Break" PA, and it said I couldn't. So then I tried assigning Tornado Break to both my Earth Breaker and my Dark Breaker, and it kept swapping between the two, not staying on both. Same thing happened with my Lightning Twin Busters and my Ice Twin Pallashes (sp?).

Maybe I'm just special?

Yes, but they will start out at level one.

Yes you can have the same PA skills on different weapons, just not on the same weapon.

It means you can't have say, 2 Resta's, on a single cane.

Oh, yeah. As handy as that would be >_> I thought you were talking about PAs. I was thinking "You can only have 1 PA on a weapon anyway".

It dosen't explain anything in psupedia concerning the 36 skill limit point.

Is it like... A fortefighter can have 30 skill in skills and 6 in guns?

Any time your character learns a new weapon skill (can't remember the 'official name'), gun skill (bullet), or magic skill (tech), it becomes one of their 36 known photon arts. When you look under character info, you can check up on your photon arts, and it will have a number at the top saying x/36, just like your inventory has an x/60.

Edit: this means weapon skills, gun skills, and magic skills COMBINED. So you can have 30 weapon skills and 6 bullet skills, or 36 weapon skills, or 20 weapon skills, 10 bullet skills, and 6 magic skills, etc.

You can apply a known PA to any number of applicable items (so I can put one knuckle skill on two different knuckle weapons, resta on three different canes, etc.) for no penalty. I'm not sure what happened for you, Zeta, but I was using one dagger skill on two daggers, one knuckle skill on two knuckles, and on my force every wand and rod had resta on it.

If you currently have 36/36 photon arts, trying to learn another (using the item that has the skill like the tech items in PSO but always level 1) will prompt you to 'forget' one of your 36. You can learn the old one again (and 'forget' another PA to make room for it), but it will start back at level 1.

I think that's everything I know about PAs for now.

So... if there is 3 PA for sword... I could only learn like 15 for one, 15 for the other and 6 for the other? Is that it?

The level of the skill doesn't count towards the limit. In other words, each of your 36 PAs could be level 30. There's just a limit of 36 different PAs at once.

Arcanum
Oct 22, 2006, 08:44 PM
wow... is there even 36 PA in the game?

SpishackCola
Oct 22, 2006, 08:50 PM
Yes.

Flunky
Oct 22, 2006, 08:52 PM
From what I've read, there's -roughly- 30 spell techs, 6 bullet techs per ranged weapon (one for each element I think, so about 60 of them), and 3 weapon techs per melee weapon (so 33 weapon techs).

Add 'em together? over 120 PAs that can be known.

Ether
Oct 22, 2006, 08:54 PM
I'd say theres probably about 129 PAs in the game (33 skill, 60 bullets, 36 tech)

Arcanum
Oct 22, 2006, 09:05 PM
So I could have 36 skill and have them all at Lv.30?
