-- BlenUnless you plan on having an alternate character just for crafting items you can actually use, your idea is a major error. Forces should major in MIND PMs, Rangers in DEX, Hunters in POW, and HP Tanks in DEF. That way, they can craft things you can actually use.

True, yet a hunter PM is stupid, I really don't want it as a literal 'partner' but more as support, like a ranger or force.

I (mostly) agree with you.
But if you have a hunter pm you can still sell the stuff it makes to other players who are too lazy to lvl their pms. and then buy force stuff yourself? It's not like it's a total waste. And I want either 420 or 450 but can't decide.

Me too. My hunter will be my main (and first) character and I want a PM quickly. I guess I should go with 420 for speed and cost effectiveness. But I'm wondering if anyone who has more experience with PMs and soloing as a hunter in the higher levels could give me some advice. If having a 450 is much more useful for a hunter than a 420 I might wait until I have the meseta for a 450. The healing sounds very nice.

As far as synthing goes, I could give my secondary character (a force) a 420 to synth for my main. Or I could get my force a 450, since I'll have more money for leveling it up by the time I start heavily playing that character. But a 450 doesn't seem so useful for a force character in battle...
