View Full Version : Strafing w/ Keyboards?

On the demo I'm playing for PC, I'm having a bit of trouble strafing and shooting simultaneously with an off-hand pistol. By the time I've configured my hands to select the pistol, lock on and press fire, the keys get locked and I can't move.

Is there a way to do this properly?

Wait, wait, wait.

There is a demo for the PC? Why was I never informed?

Tell us, tell us!

Edit: Of course, we just want you to tell us so we can download it for ourselves and uh...figure out your problem. Yeeaaaah.

Yeah, the keyboard sucks for strafing and attacking at the same time. The up and down arrows cancels out each other and the up key holds dominate over the down arrow key (if I remember correctly). The best way around it is to get a controller or remap the keys which is a bit more annoying. I suggest getting a controller.

And people, just wait a day. By time you finish downloading the actual JP version and installing it, you would be able to buy the full version. And no, theres not a demo for PC. The JP demo no longer works.

There is a JPN demo out there somewhere. That's all I know about.

Easy solution to this, is to make QE the straffing keys.

There are two options that can make this easier for you.

Locking on can be set to either "hold" or "click".
Switching to your offhand weapon can be set to either "hold" or "click".

So basically, you don't need to hold down all the buttons unless you really want to. Though holding them down does have its benefitial aspects if you can do it.

Ah, thanks alot guys. I guess that means some option twinking once I get the US version, since I can't read the Japanese menus. That solves a lot of my problems. =D

--The 'demo' I have is just a JP demo of Story Mode. Can't say where to DL it guys, sorry! You can just wait a few days though, because that's how long the DL takes ironically. =O

Actually mine is still perfectly functional, since it's just Story Mode.

Assuming I used a pistol, with my current setup I move with the numpad, strafe with 'F', and 'D' brings up the second set of attacks [in your case the pistol]. So I would just hold down F & D while strafing my brains out. ^_^

If I could set up the hotkeys they would be:
W- =Move Up
A- =Turn Left
D- =Turn Right
S-=Move backwards
<-=Strafe Left
->=Strafe Right
Enter= Shoot
Space Bar= Speak

Now how about PAs though... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif
