PSU-XBox 360: PSU 360 Delayed 1 Day

Just got the text from my old boss at GameStop, went into EB to confirm, because he's the kind of guy to scare me like that. Sadly, its legit, SEGA's holding the shipment one more day.

Supposedly, this is to ALL retailers. But if anyone finds it elsewhere, please post!

Lastly, when GameStop says the 24th is release and you go in that day and get all pissed because they get it on the 25th - that's YOUR fault, lol. The games don't just teleport from the coast to your local store, they ship. All fine and dandy for you, but my EB (which I called about 5 seconds ago) said my Preorder will be in on Wednesday, which is right on time for those of you who can't add a day for shipping.

True enough, but I highly doubt it Garnet. Retail stores dont normally, if ever, hold an item back thats multi-platform, just so it will be "fair." This world is definatley not run by fairness.

Actually, they still haven't shipped those either, they go out tomorrow. I guess they could try and do a last minute street date.... hahahaha, yeah, that would work! Um, no.

They had some minor issues in the beta. Well, it was a stress test, but they might be trying to avoid day one problems - even though they'll have em no matter what.

Minor issues? They had a couple of big issues, but I'm betting most of them were just related to the fact that the demo seemed kinda hacked together (not indicative of final product). I s'pose they could just be trying to finalize their server code or something, but in that case they could just do the ol' shut down servers for a day and release a patch. By now they should have already produced all the physical copies of the game, after all.

But meh. Sitting around here pontificating won't change much.

Lol, if you got PC or PS2 then that might be true. If not, call back and tell the morons to read the e-mail. Why is there ZERO reason? They delayed the beta, they extended it and still had some server issues and bugs. It was a stress test, and if they realized the servers weren't gonna be prepped right - that's a damn good reason.

Gimme a good reason why they would hold off SHIPPING the game. Chances are it's already been shipped, and until I hear OFFICIAL WORD FROM SEGA, I'll have fun playing my game the same day as everyone else.

I don't get it. Why would they hold back the physical copy of a game on only one platform when its supposedly the online servers that are the problem. If the 360 servers aren't up to par why would you assume that the PS2/PC servers are ok? Especially considering general opinion is that the PS2/PC servers will have more people on them? There already is speculation about the servers not being up the day the game is released so why would they delay the game if the servers won't be up anyways?

EDIT: There is no news on the Sega official PSU site, the top banner still says October 24th and the most recent news is from the 20th about the beta.

The PS2/PC servers were tested before the x360's were. More time, and from what Iv heard/read... Alot less buggy.

Well, I just called my local EB, and they said that the "vendor didn't ship it in time" and that they're not getting their shipment until Thursday. And I have the PC version on preorder, not the 360.

Of course, it's always possible the person I talked to didn't know what they were talking about, but we'll see I suppose.

And if it's a vendor issue... then no retailers will have it, whether EB, Gamestop, or whoever.

And further... quit getting all pissy and moany. More likely than not, it's a shipping problem, not a decision to hold the release date back a day for any reason.

Why would it matter if PC and PS2 players got the game a day sooner, their servers are not even connected with the 360 servers - it does not matter.

As for the delay, I knew this would happen. Being in game development when you extend your beta like they did for a few extra days, then finalize errors, press copies of the game and ship - the delay was inevitable.

ABOUT ALL THE GAMESTOPS IN MY AREA SAYS THEY WILL BE RELEASED ON THE 24TH but ARIIVE on the 25th and be sold AT 12 PM....after they register the game and guides on computer...I have about 9 gamestops/ebgames within the 10 mile radius.They said the games will be shipped in separate boxes separating teh systems but all arrive same day...My question is tho, why would they delay the game for one system? it just makes the buyers rampage more (x_x;)

The Japanese version doesn't come out until December. I think that a month and some is more than enough time to ease in to the game without a day delay.
