A Guardian's License gets you access to the online world of PSU. PC and Playstation 2 users have the option of choosing between different subscription types when purchasing a Guardians License. Be sure to pick the option that is right for you!
In North America:

1) $9.99 per month recurring option, your account will be charged every 30 days. First time subscribers will be gifted with an additional 2 weeks free – that's 45 more days until you are billed again!

Looks like US release gets screwed over. Doesn't quite say when they charge you. I thought I read in one of the other sections that they charge you up front, but it may have been in reference to hunter's license so I'm not sure. I also doubt they would allow you to subscribe for the 2nd option for 180 days and cancel to get a full refund towards the end of the 30 days.

When I stopped playing PSOX, my CC got billed for 2 extra months + Xbox Live 1 year subscription, I just had to call Xbox, talked to a nice lady and she refund me my 2 months + the 1 year subscription~

Why do we get dinged with a $15/mth fee when the american fee is $10?
