More details @ Playsega.com. Don't know if it applies to x360, but this is probably PS2/PC, options are as follows:

Phantasy Star Universe 30 Day Recurring Subscription (Plus 15 Bonus Days) - Click Here

Phantasy Star Universe 180 Day One-Time Subscription (Plus 30 Bonus Days) - Click Here

Please fork over 50$ more for your 30 day trial!

Well, guess its a good idea to get a head-start on this before it gets slammed on the site when the game comes out XD

physic
Oct 24, 2006, 09:41 AM
well its not really a trial, there is no implication you get your cash back. jp gets 2 months trial, we get ...... no trila really

kyori
Oct 24, 2006, 09:42 AM
well, i was trying to put it in good light. XD More or less, you guys are already a bit screwed from the get go so far.

Well actually it seems you get 45 or 210 days total depending on which option and for your first time on signing up at least.

This is strange. These details are appearing for you under the "New Subscriptions" thing, right?

They are not appearing for me at all, connecting from the UK (my Playsega account also has the UK listed as my country). Only the PSO:BB subscription option appears. I'm thinking Playsega will hide these options if your account is set to anything non-US for now.

This could cause a bit of drama for EU importers.. perhaps we will all have to make accounts with US as the country of origin? Hopefully this will not complicate matters when it comes to inputting credit card data.

I have just logged in with my account using a US proxy incase it fools the system in any way or it is IP related, but nothing has changed.

EDIT: Just seen this also in the "EU/AU Importers" topic. Seems we have been royally slapped in the face. EU cards will not work with US accounts.

You missed a couple things.

"Here's the good news - by signing up, you will get a bonus 15 days up front - that's 45 days until you're billed again!"

"Here's the good news - by signing up, you will get a bonus 30 days up front - that's 210 days of access for the normal price of 180!"

XD okay lets see if I can get this translated:

30days + 15trialdays
1month + .5month
1.5 months = $10

180days + 30trialdays
6months + 1month
7 months = $50

If you take the 30day+15trial days
$10 - 1.5 months
$20 - 2.5 months
$30 - 3.5 months
$40 - 4.5 months
$50 - 5.5 months
$60 - 6.5 months
$70 - 7.5 months

so for about $65, you eventually get what you could have paid $50 for...and with that conclusion, I'm not one to invest XD

Do you think we should go ahead and sign up for a license or wait for the game to come out? I know we'd probably burn that one day of gaming if we signed up today but it might be worth it. What do you guys think?

physic
Oct 24, 2006, 09:53 AM
how was that something missed, thats the same thing. point is, as it seems, no trial, aka you pay first and get bonus days, but you cant back out, or simply pay after your trial is up. and 2 get the 30 days the jp initially had promised, you must commit to spending 50 bucks.

Not like bitchin changes anything, oh well

SephYuyX
Oct 24, 2006, 09:54 AM
Extra days are good yes, but you must pay regardless to get the extra days, so apperintly there is no free trial.

And Lovejuice, I think it comes to no surprize; youll be able to sign up as US, but youll probably have to find someone willing to let you use their CC.

The 50$ payment is the best option if anyone plans to play for atleast 210 days.

BTW, a direct link to the account registration is here: https://billing.playsega.com/protected/securityCheck

XD i still think its better to get this out of the way now before the site has a chance of going down before you can register

Only showing blueburst information here, uk user. Some uk residents are reporting the same problem on the official forums... not a good sign.

Because they dont want UK players to play untill the game comes out in UK.

You can probably get around by signing up as NA and using a NA CC.

Clicking on the psobb link brings up both psobb & psu info

One other thing to add is that the bonus days are for first time subscribers.

Woot I just signed up for the 180 day package. $50 for technical 210 days isn't bad at all considering I was paying double that for my WoW subscription. Now just to get the game in...... Hehehe

That's pretty good.

210/30 = 7 months
$50 / 7 = $7.14 a month

Any other euro gamers here seeing psu?

Well, hey..

It's ten bucks for Sega off the bat.
I mean, people are dying to play this. That's some real profit.

yeah, its really surprising they can't throw a dog a bone with at least 15 days to see if we're willing to invest XD no kudos for sega's subscription methods~

NeuroNomad
Oct 24, 2006, 10:10 AM
Guys I hate to seem mean or anything but really $10 a month (or less considering your plan) isn't that bad. Considering what other MMOs charge this is a still. If you really don't think it's going to be worth your $10 a month to play the online version and you don't care about the offline version then maybe the game isn't for you. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Mag_Launcher
Oct 24, 2006, 10:11 AM
Yeah, I was kinda hoping there was going to be online play BEFORE having to shell out the initial subscription fee. This doesn't stop me one bit, but MMO's usually DO offer a completely free trial on purchase. (PSU doesn't fall into this category, but still, PSO v2 and EP1&2 did this, but BB was pay off the bat, since you didn't actually have to buy the game.)

HOPE U GOT :10 BUX:

point is, if the game sucks, or the servers blow up, or its hacked to pieces, they still got your cash, as well as the fact that almost every othe rdeveloper gives a 1 month free, seeing as how you spent 50 balls already

It's business.

Deal with it.

Merumeru
Oct 24, 2006, 10:15 AM
Still, itd be nicer if the 'long-term-PSU-addict' $50 sub was a little sweeter, but I guess $15 isnt too bad a savings if you're sure to play obsessively :3

Diablohead
Oct 24, 2006, 10:17 AM
I guess us euro gamers have to wait then, bah. might as well bung the game on ebay when it gets here and buy it at christmas, pointless sega.

NeuroNomad
Oct 24, 2006, 10:18 AM
I figured I already had $60 invested in the game (after shipping), $40 invested in a Xbox controller for my PC just for this game so I had already spent $100 on the game so I hope to goodness I will be playing it for at least 6 months so what's another $50 on top of that? Not to mentioned I will be spending $20 on the strategy guide as well (shhh strat guide haters).

weak, business is about jerking people as much as you can till they either jerk you back, you run away, or they put your head on a guillotine.
so yeah its business, and yeah its expected that people bitch, and some front,
thats part of business too. question is in the long term is two things
will this equal more profits or less, the world will never really know.
or, will this get me killed or harmed for bamboozlation.
Thats business deal with it.

I just bought the 210 day subscription, and playsega.com sends you an e-mail with a purchase reference number and subscription number, so I'm thinking once you get PSU, you enter one or both numbers in the game setup somewhere to get online.
