I noticed that there are Visa Gift Cards and Visa pre-paid (reusable) Debit cards. Would it matter which one I buy?

Don't think it would matter. As long as it has the visa logo on the card.

The gift card has a lower activation fee, so that's why I'm wondering

I use Green Dot Mastercard, which is a reloadable card. It has worked for many many online purchases so I am fairly confident it would work for a PSU subscription as well.

If anyone has an Albertson's near them, you can get them there. They are bought at those Coinstar coin changing machines. They are $9.99 to buy and they require $20 to add to the card when you open it. So basically, you need at least $30 to get a card with $20 on it. You can reload it afterward for a $5 fee. ($20 minimum deposit again) There is a limit of $500 that you can put on the card.

The card comes in the mail, but you can go to their website to retrieve your card information to use it immediately online. (tried and tested) '-'

When I get my PS3 you'll see my parody characters take shape. 50-cent and G-unit are first.
Why PS3 you ask? It will be far eaiser to get online for me that way. (Wi-fi)

Would prepaid cards work? I was wondering about this, I think it will depend on if the payment screen asks for the name on the card. If it does (which it probably does), is there a dummy name you can enter, or is it a no go at that point?

Is there any of these cards available in Canada? Because Walgreens and others mentioned are not in Canada, or anywhere near Toronto that I know of.

I use greendot. It's explained in detail in my post earlier in this thread. '-'

With Greendot, you also get your name on the card, you get to input your billing address and everything, it also has that CVC code or whatever on the back as well.

I think Greendot is actually Mastercard tho? Mine is anyway. I suppose they might have both.

Before you guys who are new to gift cards, debit cards, pre-paid cards, etc. go out to find one, MAKE SURE you research your heart out about the specifics of a card so that you will understand exactly what you are searching for when you run to a bank.

Here's some little information about the world of plastic money :

http://prepaid-gift-card.fimark.net/questions.html

This is a site that sells gift cards out in NA. There are some small information about it... Eh you can even check Wiki. Anyways... There are lots of places to look for them especially Banks, major stores, even your neigborhood 7eleven.

Not just Visa, other major companies have gift cards for sell too. Heres to name a few:

VISA
American Express
MasterCard
Bankcard
China UnionPay
Diners Club
Discover
JCB

Take good care, and see you guys online.

Im using the Good 2 Go which is under Green dot, thing I dont like is the 4.95 to put moneyon the card and the 4.95 thats taken out your money for service at the end of the month. I plan on putting 50 dollars and play for 180 days that way I wont have to add so much money to the card.

I think I'm going to buy a Visa Gift card since it seems to work from this topic http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=122234&forum=20

I'm only going to use the card once, so I realy don't want one of those rechargeable cards.
