Start payments now?

I'm getting my PC version of PSU tomarrow, Oct. 25th.
Should I start the payment plan thing now, tonight, or wait till I actually have the game and stuff?

I went ahead and did so. I figure oh well I will miss one day of the plan that amounts to less than 25 cents. But at least as soon as it gets in I don't have to mess with it.

I would recommend waiting until you have the game to activate your online play time. The reason for that is, at the moment, there is no way of telling if Sega considers your time to start from the minute you submit payment, or from the time you first log on. The game is considered "shipped" by Sega and according to their website, so I would assume they would start counting your time down as soon as you have submitted your purchase for online play. That's my two cents, but I could be wrong. Either way, my way is the "safe" way.

you lose 1 day if you buy it now but you save your self the trouble of the down time the site might have if it crashes when every 1 has there game. i say wait gives you time to play the ofline if the site is down IMO

I wouldn't worry about the downtime the site might get. I'm sure there will be an opening for you while you busy installing the game.

Really? I read that you only pay for each day that you actually log onto the game. So, if you don't log on for a day or two they don't charge you.. I could be wrong..

I agree too. Personally, I could care less about the loss of one or two paid gamedays, but the thought of having to pay Sega money while they get thier shit together just irks me. Also, I'd rather play the game in offline mode before I go online to make sure there are no compatability issues between the game and my pc before I go and charge my credit card. (And anyone that has ever played an online game with a pc knows that it always happens...some poor sod gets the game, that supposedly meets all the requirements recommended by the developers, and then it doesn't work for XYZ reason when they try to install it on their computer).

I don't see anything wrong with going ahead and signing up. As I mentioned I did eariler today. If you do the 180 day plan you are only going to be out less than a quarter if you get the game tomorrow or 50 cents if you get it Thursday. But you don't have to worry about fighting the crowd that will be trying to all get in tomorrow and Thursday night. It might not have an effect or it may. I say the wasted half dollar is worth not having to worry about that. That way when you get the game you are good to go.

I'm just going to start it early in the morning tomorrow, before anyone has gotten their copies and the billing site gets slammed. Avoid the crowds, and still eek out an extra half-day, if they do indeed start counting from when you activate the Guardian's License (as I think they probably do).
