Simple question. Will this game work with an S-Video cable or will it only work with the standard Red/White/Yellow cables? If it matters, I'm refering to the PS2 version.

Don't see why it wouldn't. I've yet to have any game that didn't work with S-video (on my cube anyway). As far as I know, it's just an alternative video jack.

Will the picture be any clearer? I know with PSO the picture became SO much clearer. I was hoping PSU would become even clearer as well if possible.

Progressive scan you mean?

If just by regular output by S-Video.... its up the the system cable/ Tv if they both support it shouldn't matter. -.-

Yeah, S-Video is better quality then the Yellow av cable. Not by leaps and bounds. But it looks crisper... sometimes this can be bad if the game sucks XD

Ah ok, because I can either have slightly less crisper graphics and play on big speakers for super sound, or crisper graphics yet TV speakers. Tough choice...

Super Sound, i doubt you'll notice the difference. Not many do.

Well I was able to notice the difference with PSO, mainly in the text and how much clearer it became. With a more recent game such as PSU, I can't quite see how much "crisper" it could even get (yes yes I know it CAN get crisper but I mean noticeably). So maybe I will go with the super sound as you suggested. Thanks for the feedback.

Try adjusting your tv settings. If your tv setting are default or if it's fine then adjust the settings in PSU if they support changing visual settings in the game

I never found S-video to be that much better than the ol' red white and yellow. It IS better, but it does not make much impact on the display at all... well actually, yes it does, cause the RWY sucks.

I'm not sure why you'd need to ask this, though, seeing as long as you have an s-video on your video out cable, it'll be supported by any PS2 game in existance.

only problem is that some games do not support progressive mode. The screen would just be black, but majority of the games don't have this problem.

S-video doesn't support progressive scan I don't think, you need RGB component cables for that. And even then, you need a TV that supports progressive scan as well, which no standard TV does.

Yeah, I have never used Progressive scan. Would like more info and to know if it makes a huge impact on PS2/GC games like RE4.

i'm sorry i messed up on the S-video supporting progressive scan. I forgot i used a device that hooked the system directly into my computer monitor back then when i played PSO and other games, and it looked the best ever(even looked a lot better than s-video on the tv to me). Our TV supports it but at this time i am more interested in getting the games looking in HD equal to the progressive quality. I would have loved to see RE4 on progressive scan, but I wanted to play it on the large widescreen tv since the game was widescreen.

I disagree, I think S-Video makes a considerable difference in the quality of the image. A lot of it comes down to the quality of your TV however. On a high-end set you will notice a much finer image, less color bleed, etc. The jump from S-Video -> Component (480i) is not as noticeable, sharpness is similar but color will appear better. And obviously Component (480i) to 480p/720p/1080i/1080p is sweet... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

umm text is a major part of the game so yea s-video is very important. You can get s-video madcatz universal cables for $10. Even works with the ole xbox.

Well the quality of my s-video cable is also bad when i am using it as a normal monitor showing the desktop/webpages etc.
