Amazon pushed my order back until between November 24, 2006 - December 7, 2006, yikes I cancelled that. Argh. Maybe I shouldn't have already paid for my guardian account after all.

Never, never order online unless you have no other option. Particularly from places like that. Amazon rarely sells directly... they're basically just a front for any company that wants to offer its stock, which means you could be placing an order with Joe Schmoe who's camping out the local Wal-Mart for extra copies.

Well, you can get great deals on some things from Amazon, but... definitely wouldn't use it as a video game resource at release time.

Yeah, Amazon and Toysrus spilt ways earlier this year (or was it late last year). I think Amazon has sort of lost its grip on toys and games ever since.

That only applies to the Amazon Marketplace, not the main Amazon store, though, right?

For certain products I believe amazon.com is just a distribution method for other companies. These companies tend to be larger than Joe Schmoe who camped out in front of walmart, though.
Personally, I only order a game from amazon if it's an old one I can't find anywhere else... sites more dedicated to selling one product (in this case, games) tend to be a little more reliable.
