So ya lv.1's should do the complete tutorial, even if they know how to play, it earns them a free PhotonArt and NPC.

kk so like well I forgot some details but I think it's best to level up to 5-8 doin the Linear Line C rank missions.

then at Parum try joining a party to do Raphon Plains c rank runs until maybe lv. 8-10. if you have a good party, you can do sleeping warriors and overlord if you're careful, just be sure to tag everything with a handgun or whatever, then survival takes priority. let the higher levels handle the rest (hee hee hee).

then for lv.10-15 you could try doing Neudaiz mizuraki missions. a party would be helpful, and even a pair would be great since you'll get finisher bonus exp more often that way.

15-20 its best to do Rank B Linear Line missions (those have lv.20 monsters), but it's recommended to only do this if you have a decent enough party to clear those missions quickly enough.
because if you spend a half-hour killing a room of monsters then you are better off chaining more exp from Parum C rank missions.

or you could try rank B or C Parum missions. Sleeping Warriors is truly excellent, especially if you manage to get S rank each run. repeating Sleeping Warriors is a good source of exp and cash early on. just be sure to join a stronger party if your gonna tackle it in rank B mode.

and there you have it!

oh ya lv.1 people should definitely do the complete tutorial at the start.

even if they know how to play, it earns them a free PhotonArt and NPC. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

so ya after that they can keep doing Linear Line missions until they reach 5-9. even 10+ if they like, but by then they should be training at Parum missions.

I got to lvl 3 just by doing the tutorial, and afte that I went back and got to lvl 6 rather quickly soloing that and the boss fight in the linear line missions.
So I would agree on the path you suggested to level up quickly especially doing the sleeping warriors run and getting a S ranking gets you 6 mission points, a nice amount of meseta and some items.

oh ya its true by the time they finish the complete tutorial they'll probably be lv.3+

but ya the key to leveling class level and farming meseta is to level high an then go back to the misions that are now easy like Linear Line and Sleeping Warriors to get great mission points and money and stuff. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

because of course on harder missions/ranks, party members are likely to screw up. thus only getting a C often and missing out on meseta and points, but it depends if you are aiming for more exp or more meseta/class lv.

Lol, at first I read this and you said "a pair" and I thought you meant like a pair of ba**s...haha im sorry. What exactly do you mean by a pair???

GyroidFanatic
Oct 25, 2006, 11:23 AM
Pair = two

Two people would be better than a full party as you'd get more bonus EXP

Saner
Oct 25, 2006, 11:23 AM

Why can't I get any linear line missions, or any missions from the Guardians place on the colony or Parum? The only mission I can get from anywhere is a free mission on Parum, and that has level 10 monsters. o_O

Do you HAVE to do the tutorial every single time to level up?

BluCast20xx
Oct 26, 2006, 08:23 AM
no you dont have to do the tutorial at all. Its recommended, but if you want to learn more about this game truly, tutorial is the way to go.

You only need to do it once, and it helps you when you start because it levels you up, gets you some items to start off, as well as a first time chance to play with a story character, and get a free skill, Rising Strike, which goes for about 1000 meseta.

I was doing the tutorial, and I got DCed form the server. I couldn't find my way back to it, so I recreated my character... and It doesn't give me the option to do it anymore. Is there anyway I can get back to it?

EDIT: nevermind, I found it. You have to talk to your Partner Machine, select talk, then select tutorial. Figures I figure it out a second after posting for help...

A couple notes to add to help with the earlier levels (for hunters especially):

- Carry multiple weapons with fully charged PP (you can often find additional starter weapons during your missions) and use a LOT of photon arts with these until depleted. Since they aren't your main weapons anyway, it will help kill things faster and level up your PAs quicker, for the minimal cost of recharging PP after the mission.

- Hold off on upgrading your weapons for the first time until you can afford the ones that sell for 2000 meseta in the shop. When you get your first 2000, buy the weapon that you use the most with Photon Arts and use that to run through the missions to earn the rest of your upgrade money.

- Don't buy ANYTHING until you buy your first weapon upgrade, you don't need it yet, whatever it is. This would waste valuable upgrade money that could help you upgrade your weapon quicker, allowing you to kill things faster and level quicker.

Guardian missions are unavailable for now. Where you get your missions is on the fourth floor, on the right side for the colony. On one of the planets, you go to the east district and then to the Flyer Base for missions, and on the other planet you go far to the right once you arrive.

I agree with this guide 100%. It's good to spam the early levels to get more efficient EXP as opposed to going to levels where it would take forever to kill higher level monsters. It is of course always nice if you can get a group of 6 together to tackle tougher missions.

I think the PM will provide the tutorial again. This is assuming that it's not just for "Your Room" tutorial.

For all those who have asked (and any future people who might ask)...You can do the tutorial ANY time, so don't worry that you "missed it" because in actuality, you can't really miss it.
Talk to your Partner Machine, select P Machinery Function, then Talk, then you can start the tutorial. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I didn't find this out until last night, but I was wondering how you get Hyuga's card. Then someone told me that each race has their own tutor/mentor/partner. I guess I'm sticking with Mia Shidow (that's her name right?) http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

sorry if this was ALL mentioned before but....

if you have higher level friends, pair up and power level, as mentioned.
(i do the same for lesser levels than me)

TAG EVERYTHING. old rule of thumb.
i'm surprised at how often i see under 20s just wail on one creature...

order of business:

-shoot everything once
-work on leveling up your PAs and TECHNICs (hit everything you can once, careful not to actually kill anything without letting others tag it)
-STAY SAFE, DONT DIE, GET OUT OF THE WAY, BE APPRECIATED:

forces: after tagging with your gun, stay well away, and level up that resta
hunters: just lvl up your PA and hit n run.
rangers: tag at a distance, lvl up your stat effects. wheeeee!

you're helping out, getting maximum exp, lvling up your respective PAs/TECHNICs, and most importantly, NOT dying/screwing up the party.
