I would say that you have a really really slim chance of acquiring the game on launch day. The chances are that you'll get a copy of it is sometime from a week to a month.

Despite the "OMG IT'S LAUNCH DAY!!!" psycho-party that we've been throwing ourselves for the last week or whatever as fans of the series, PSU really isn't that big of a game. I mean, it's far from a totally obscure title and I think it'll be a success, but it's not Halo or anything in terms of popularity. My point is, very few games actually sell out on the first day. I'm sure you'll be able to find a copy somewhere today.

yeah i didnt reserve my copy either, but thats because its like what everyone has said on this, even though its a good game, it doesnt have the same media as halo does or consoles.So im pretty sure you'll find one,go to best buy they usually over stock on new released games

Well I got a copy of Halo 2 on its release day without a problem. I had my mother pick it up for me at a K-mart while I was in school. God bless my mommy. <3

I think most stores order copies beyond what is preordered. The only time I would expect them to not is when there just aren't enough copies made to supply all stores with preorders and have any left. With games that isn't really likely to occur since games can be produced much faster than consoles can. Lots of people don't bother preordering for games that aren't insanely popular (Halos, GTAs, etc.) and I'm sure game stores have noticed this by now.

If you don't get it within the first few days though you may have to wait for another shipment, depending on how many the stores receive, as people who are holding off to hear about the game from people playing start to purchase it as well as people who may not have been able to buy it right away will start grabbing copies too.

I didn't reserve Enchanted Arms and my GameStop didn't have enough on launch day to sell me one. That was Enchanted Arms...I don't think anyone bought that game. So I think you could possibly miss out on PSU the same way.

My reason? We have a neighborhood kleptomaniac, and my local UPS man likes to leave packages on my front door for all the world to see, rather than ringing the doorbell TO SEE IF SOMEONE IS FRIGGIN' HOME! I'm not ordering anything remotely disc shaped and having it sent to my house, and I don't have time this week to camp out in front of my house.

So I've accepted what this might mean: I'll have to hit up every Walmart, EBgames, Gamestop, Best Buy, etc. to get this game this week.

Don't worry about pre ordering it.. It's not like this is DiabloIII being launched where stores would be ransacked, through the sheer populatrity of the series. Personally I'm expecting Wal-mart, Blockbuster, rogers, zellers to have it before ebgames. Not to mention if you have stores like Circuit City, best Buy and the likes.

I'm not to worried about making trips. Within less than a mile from my house, there is a Gamestop, Circuit City, Walmart, Target, and Gamefly. All these are on the way to my normal work route. Within walking distance of my work, there is another Gamestop, Target, Walmart, and Best Buy. I feel sorry for players that have to drive all over because none of these stores are near them.

My big problem is I want the PC version...I'm beginning to suspect that some stores won't carry it.

Damn neighborhood thieves. They steal just about anything that looks remotely valuable if its left on your front doorstep. I didn't reserve one and he rung me up. I however had stopped through 3 times throughout the day to see if it was there and I think he felt bad for me.

There was a kind young gentelman behind me that had reserved and I was worried that I was ganking someone's copy that had been more responsable than I.

It did NOT seem like they had a lot of PC copies.. =/

My suggestion just start driving around everywhere that could have a copy before the work day ends and test your luck. (1 hour here.)

EBGames on the phone had said "tommorrow", but I took the 10 minute drive anyway just to see and I have PSU becuase of it.

Halo 2 was a very highly-anticipated game. Stuff like Halo, Final Fantasy, Madden, GTA, etc... Stores get a ton of, and they usually get the game in early. Phantasy Star is another story... For PSU (an most other games), the game will more than likely not even arrive until noon-ish on the day of release, and on top of that, the store will receive a lot less copies (The store I work at only got 4).

I'm not saying that you won't be able to find it, you probably will, you just really can't compare being able to find Halo to being able to find PSU >_>

The EB Games I went to today ended up with 5 or 6 copies of the PC version, and while I'm not entirely sure, he didn't say anything about anyone reserving them when I discovered the problem with the store's shipment of PSU. He also said they were getting another shipment in a day or two, so I doubt it'll be a problem getting ahold of the game.

None of the stores I went to received more than 2 unreserved copies of the PS2 version, and I doubt they're there anymore considering quite a few people called in asking about PSU while I was there getting my copy. I didn't bother to reserve myself, but hearing how they received so few today changed my mind on reserving games completely. From now on I'm going to do it!!! Had somebody else walked into the store 5 minutes earlier than me wanting to buy PSU I wouldn't have been able to get the game.
