Probably not the reason, but your firewall maybe? I got the exact same thing for Blue Burst until I opened the Firewall.
Edit: Oh, PS2.

Are your network configurations correct?
They should be saved on your memory card if you've played a game online before on the PS2.

PSU launches fine and Gameguard downloaded something...authenticated then put me into PSU. But everytime I try to login it just instantly says Network Connection Error, no response from the DNS server. I am at college...but I really doubt that would prevent PSU from working. Also I turned windows firewall off and have nothing else running that I know of that could block PSU. Anyone know whats wrong?

i'm at college too. The other day i had a problem (im usin ps2 by the way) authenticating the DNS, and i made a new network connection and it worked fine. Also someone else said they kept trying to get on and it worked after a few tries

Maybe they arn't letting people on till tonight due to timezones...? Or just overflow on the servers, I dunno lol...

Have a look at the tech support forum. Maybe your answer is there:

By posting that question in the tech support forum you have better chance to get an answer. Your thread won't get burried as fast over there.
I hope you're able to find a quick fix for your problem.

Congratulations!
Did you change anything or did it just start working for no apparent reasons? I ask because it might be of help to other PS2 players.
Thanks.
