Well got it all installed and running and just cant take the jaggies. ive enabled 6x AA and 16x AF in ati tools and its like they dont even work.

Im running an ATi X850XT, rest of computer specs are irrevelant, but much more than will ever be needed for this game.

so is there something im missing to get AA working in this game?

Nope. I heard forcing AF works a bit, but forcing AA is a no-no.

Nope http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif one of the reasons why I decided on not getting it for the PC

(I have a 1900XT, so yeah, kinda going to waste)

Dammit. I don't know if I should get it for the PS2 or PC now :squint:

ok how about forcing the screen resolution to 1600x1200 and downsampling from 2048 texture size via a regestry key like you could in FFXI? 1600x1200 wouldnt be so bad without AA. Im on a 21inch monitor so these things are huge!

haha 800x600

i dont like gaming at anything less than 1600x1200, since my pc can handle it. so thats not an option lol.

Couldnt you always just play it at 800x600?

I'm the same way.

Maximum Resolution is 1280x1024 I don't think it comes anywhere close to 1600x1200

FFXI was limited at 1280x1024 with 1024 texture res. but thru regestry you could enable any res your monitor could handle with double the texture res so that AA was not needed.

All games have ways to force them to a higher resolution these days. just gotta find the way

Now that I think about it, ffxi looked fine on my PC, so PSU should be fine http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

AF works on Nvidia/ATI cards.

ATI's proprietary Adaptive Anti-aliasing *might* work (need latest ATI card).

I know Nvidia's own AA modes (quincux, transparency, gamma corr, multi, super, you name them, tried them all) don't work.

Could you post a screenshot of it? You're the second person to mention the pc's jaggedy love.

PSU doesn't have the resolution registry entries like FFXI did (which was really useful).

I just sit back, relax, and run the game at 60fps, Max default Resolution. It looks nice enough for me.

Left - No AF or AA - game by default doesn't do bilinear or trilinear filtering, distant textures shimmer a lot without AF
Mid - 16x AF, completely removes texture shimmering, very noticeable.
Right - 16x AF, 8xS AA - like quincunx, the *real* AA part doesn't work, but the *blur* filter seems to kick in just fine. Not really worth enabling if you ask me.
