I don't remember downloading anything this size on PSUJP. This just happens to be the largest of the bunch... there's assorted 5 meg and 2 meg files that I also downloaded.

Yeah, I don't get this at all. The JP version never went over 2 meg patches, the US version starts with about 150 megs in patches...

uhawww
Oct 25, 2006, 04:52 PM
Yeah, I noticed that too.
All the JP updates were 1-5 MB, every now and then.
Load up PSU US, Patch, and BAM. 150MB.

Glad I have a high-speed connection... for whenever I get it.

Are they making us download the US voices and dialogue or something? I mean, really.

I'm sitting at 48% right now.

By the way Parn. You are too sexy for that shirt. You should ask Sega to make an option to remove it.

That's a pretty small patch, I remember having to download a 3GB patch (on very slow torrent speeds) for Trickster

Maybe they're to patch all the problems the JP game had off the bat?

That's huge though O_O

I completely agree! There is an option to remove it by wearing the swimming trunks, but they aren't available yet. Give it a few weeks... oh yeah. They're totally mine.

I'm just glad my game is working now. I got a japanese error and my first thought was, "Did I get a japanese psu disk somehow? But the box is in english!" It's fixed now though thank goodness.

I'd love to see how far you can go ^_~

Maybe they are trying to make it a smoother launch for servers by putting a patch for servers that JPN had for a while?

LOL, Parn. ;p
In terms of the DL, wow. What Sega was thinking really bothers me. I guess this si what happens when fanboys rush the release?

In a few weeks the PSU community won't know what hit them.

Dude. Maybe you missed it, but there have been countless errors in the release of this game. THis just happens to be one of them.

Oh no. A 150 meg patch. Scurry, scurry, Andy's coming!

Parn
Oct 25, 2006, 05:42 PM
It's an issue because it's causing some people to be unable to connect successfully to the patch server since we're busy downloading 150+ megs of patch files on release day, Guilty. My apologies that I don't share your enjoyment of urine flavored Cheerios. More power to you!

What about the PS2 version? I didn't think they could do a big patch for PSU since it didn't require the PS2 hard drive and the PS2 memory card can't hold that much.

It took about 1 minute to download it all on ps2, I didn't pay attention to how much it was.

Unless someone puts out external patch downloads (I doubt it), I'll just wait til I move somewhere where the DSL installation fee is under $200... I can't see paying $250 just to play PSU. I'll just stay in the back and do lolfanart.

(That may seem ineffecient, considering moving costs, but I'd planned on moving for quite some time to be closer to my job and school. The places I'm eyeing are already DSL-ready.)

I bet they are. As for PS2, they had no choice but to manufacture english disks. ;p
