FOmar? Or HUmar?

I'm picking up a US copy this weekend, since the servers dont seem there ever goin to be connected. So, my question to you, should I make a FOmar or HUmar? I was going to make a HUcaseal like in my import, but dont want to. I think i'll choose FOmar, but i'll read some of your opinions to make my final decision. Note: I've been a PSO Vet since the days of Ver.2 if that makes a diff.

This is a toughie because, when it comes down to it. It's all about personal preference. I don't really want to suggest a character on the basis of my personal preference, so I'll just do what I always do. Basically, if you like sabers and strong magic, go FOmar.

If you like sabers/swords and strong power, go HUmar.

And if you absolutely want to make me choose for you. I'd go FOmar. No real reason other than some personal opinions.

If you like actually hitting things with melee weapons, go with the HUmar.

I played Ver.2 tons, and I used a HUmar then. They got boring after awhile (maybe that was cause I had hacks, I dunno) I think i'll be a FOmar cause I love magic, and Forces are acually good in this game. I know that from the import. I'll see you on the US version this weekend as a FOmar named Matt. ^_^

I wouldn't make either, if I was dead set on making a mar it would be an RAmar, which Vandal is. They just suck at everything else compared to races that specialize in their job. I.E. - Newmen are naturally adept at using techs (tp regen, higher than human mst), casts are naturally gifted at dealing and taking dmg(more hp, dfp, evp, atp..). The one saving grace of the mar in this is that RAmar have the highest ATA in the entire game, and retained shifta/deband while the HUmar got screwed.

But hey, its like that other guy said, be what you want. The classes actually do seem balanced this time around up until Ult at which point everything goes to hell again with FO (I guess that includes FOmar simply because he has access to lv30 Megido, but he is the weakest of the FO at this point) coming out on top this time instead of the bottom which is now occupied with HUmar.

But take this with a grain of salt, I'm only in Ult with one char, and the majority of this post is based off things Parn has told me and careful scrutinization of the max stats page. I could be sooo totally wrong its not even funny. Its just not likely ^_^

At 4 chars per mem card, why not try both.
One of them will end up being your main character anyway through playing him more often in the end.
