Account password problems?

I heard that there was a problem earlier about people being able to access accounts without having to input the password! Right now that's about the only thing keeping me from going online, so I'd like some confirmation; is this true? And if so, has it been fixed?

It was true, but I believe they brought the servers down for emergency maintenance last night to correct the problem (servers went down around 3:00AM EST).
