If this info has been discussed than it must have gone right over my head. I thought it was by doing missions, but I have done a few over and over, and I do not see anything happening in terms of my job level increasing.

Hold L2, press left, and hit X. Do this when you finish a mission. That'll show you your progress.

Get to the end of a mission and you get Meseta and Class points. Try a stage with a boss at the end for even more than normal stages.

De Ragan C gives about 700 Meseta and I think 8 Class points, for example.

Thanks. And the L2, X thing may need to be translated for me, I'm on the 360.

You will see something pop up under and to the right of your name. Normally there is a little button to check the mission stuff, but once you finish it another appears. This makes a box pops up that shows your rank/what you leveled up/etc.

I don't know where to look to find out, but what do mission points do for you? I don't think the book or the tutorial help you out too much. I'm still confused about everything and don't even know where to start looking.

Mission points are job experience. And don't feel bad about not finding that written anywhere, I have poured over the guide as well as tutorial and book.

It's mentioned in the guide. Once. And not in a logical spot.
