Uh no....Extra mode is just like online mode in the sense that it allows you to roam freely around the environments without having to stick to a story line, AND it lets you create your own character...but why are you going to chat with an AI? O_O

um I unlocked Extra mode for PS2 version. I plugged in keyboard but it seems you can't text chat or do emotes in extra mode.

anyways extra mode is still very valuable and useful and fun if you are not going online or access to online is unavailable at the moment.
