Naming your partner machinery in extra mode?

I can't seem to do it. And I'm starting to feel very silly, like I'm missing something. Can you even name them in extra mode at all? Do you need to unlock something in story mode to rename them in extra mode?

Very confused, and the default name isn't cute at all. x_x

I doubt you can.. Extra mode reflects your Story mode.. You also have a picture of Ethan and his sister on your wall x_x very disturbing.
